    Reynaud remains on the board.

  5. #105
    Sounds like Micah Peavy

  6. #106
Pels draft Micah Peavy at 40. Reynaud remains on the board, Pels are out of picks.

    I give up, man.

  7. #107
    Alas, No drafting a Center.

Having learned from his mistakes in Detroit, Dumars has resolved to never roster anyone over 6'9 again in his life.

Four million. By comparison, we need 0 centres.

Anyhoo it seems a few folks sounds excited we drafted him.
Welp! That's the draft done for us.

Onward to Free Agency and the antics related to that.

Wonder if raynaud wasn't picked because they got queen

Given that Queen is a 6'8 on-ball none-shooting none-rim protecting PF and Reynaud is a 7'0 stretch 5, there should be zero crossover.

In fact, getting Queen over someone like Maluach or Sorber should be more reason to get Reynaud because it ensures that we still have zero centres on the roster lmao

I just wanna be clear, I don't hate Peavy. I think he has some skills and some potential, and at this spot in the draft it's not bad value. Might even end up being positive value!

Just galls me to see yet another year without the centre issue properly resolves. Free agency might do it, but it's not like we have many options.

Either Joe is going to reverse the curse or the team is going to be named St. Louis Master Blasters in 5 years. *cries inside*

Derik Queen measured 6'9.25" barefoot at the combine, making him close to 6'11" with shoes.

I like Peavy. Still clearly need height though. Either Dumars is doubling down on small ball NBA or we have to be in the market for a 7 footer in the off-season. Right? I do believe Queen adresses our massive gap at backup 4 that we have not addressed for years, and Fears is an actual PG prospect. We technically addressed weaknesses with future potential. Micah could be a very reliable role player if his last year is any indicator. I just really want it to work man. And even though I wanted Willie fired out of a cannon and into Seattle, I do want him to succeed. We just have to get that offense rolling and looking smoother and that defense consistent. That is what separates you from competing and being a perennial lottery pick.

Pels sign Hunter Dickinson to a 2-way

    Shams Charania
    @ShamsCharania
Kansas' 7-footer Hunter Dickinson has agreed to a two-way NBA deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell ESPN.

    Hunter great college player

But he is very slow and not cut out for the nba

Most second rounders don't amount to anything in the NBA. Even moreso for undrafted players.

Let's not get carried away...Queen measured in at 6'9.125" barefoot at the combine, meaning he plays at about 6'10".

Agree on Reynaud though. He would have been my pick at 40 all the way. Draft makes me think maybe we have a deal underway to trade for a center. The wings are getting pretty crowded...

My bold prediction is that Dumars' Plan A is to spend the first half of the season repairing Zion's prestige and then trading him at the deadline. DJM is gone, too. And unfortunately since that would put us in a longer rebuild mode, Herb Jones will also be gone but that we keep TMIII to move into the new era.

I don't think they want to trade Zion now, or they would have coveted our 2026 1st rounder more....plus he's at a low currently...see I also think that Zion wouldn't have been shut down last season had we been competing for something
So NOLA brass thinks he can stay relatively healthy again. If Zion plays the first half of this season and stays healthy, he'll be back to being able to fetch a superstar trade package.

Saddiq Bey and Micah Peavy are other big clues to this conclusion for me. Saddiq Bey is not a throw away player from that trade. This is now the third team Weaver has brought Bey onto and after drafting Peavy we now have a log jam at the wing. Especially with 3 n D wings. Herb wouldn't really fit the post-Zion timeline. So bring Bey in to rehabilitate his career and draft Peavy to be the younger cheaper version.

Queen just seems like such an odd player to draft on a Zion led team....but you trade away Zion and suddenly he fits Fears, Poole, TMIII, and Missi really well. Also it makes sense being so lackadaisicle with our assets knowing that we're about to receive more assets than we can place on a team next year. It fits all the puzzle pieces. We'll start the season pushing hard, playing vets, and showcasing Zion. Trade Zion, DJM, and Herb at the deadline after we've built up a decent record, let the youth takeover but still not be in the bottom 10.

I agree that both Zion and DJM will be traded by next offseason for a complete team rebuild. If Zion produces an all star caliber season, we should at minimum net 3 or 4 unprotected 1st round picks and a reasonable player. We will be lucky to get 1 1st rounder for DJM.
