I do think Gayle sets the table and they act on her wishes. Owners are often more involved than we think. All of the above you mentioned just get the blame if things go wrong. I don't think she makes every front office decision, but she is 100 percent involved in the decision making in some way. No shot we would hire a Louisiana native otherwise. She definitely had a hand in that.

The teams are run by Lauscha/Loomis/Bensel in some way, shape, or form. If you saw Gayle on the street, I'd bet $1,000 that she couldn't name three players on the Pels and probably not five on the Saints. I'm perfectly willing to believe that she wants to trade Zion because of off-court behavior, but there's zero chance she's involved in day to day decisions.

She had a MASSIVE hand in retaining Gentry another year. If you mean she isn't educated on the sport and everything that goes into running a team I'd agree. Like I said I wouldn't doubt that she thought "let's bring in a Louisiana native that the fans can root far" without a single thought into whether he was a good option or if that is what the fans wanted. I think she is a bit delusional at times with the atmosphere she wants to build and it has clouded the direction of the franchise.

Are you suggesting that Willie might be a token? That would certainly put the icing on the cake for the way things have been going lately for the entire organization. Anything is possible as to the motivation for having him there but it's probably just as likely they wanted him to be seen so the fans know they have his back and he isn't going anywhere. Probably a little more tone deaf and not in sync with the fans rather than trying to avoid appearing as racist.
