So what? Who cares if Willie is hanging out in the Saints war room? Maybe he wants to see how a top notch organization operates... lol
The teams are run by Lauscha/Loomis/Bensel in some way, shape, or form. If you saw Gayle on the street, I'd bet $1,000 that she couldn't name three players on the Pels and probably not five on the Saints. I'm perfectly willing to believe that she wants to trade Zion because of off-court behavior, but there's zero chance she's involved in day to day decisions.
That is not true at all. The amount of time in literally every sport I have heard that owners are overbearing or too involved in decision making is off the charts. She had a MASSIVE hand in retaining Gentry another year. I can guarantee you she is solely responsible for that and Griff did not want to keep Gentry but conceded because it was the only way to get the job.
I think she was the one that fired Dennis Allen. Rumor has it Loomis did not want to fire him.
Yeah, I'm not talking about other owners. I've heard her speak in public about the teams (she reads things that were obviously written for her and it comes across as if she has no idea who she's talking about), there's no chance that she knows anything about either team. I would agree that she (and/or the Loomis/Lauscha/Bensel "braintrust") kept Gentry and Willie. The coaches/front office have some access to her and can use that to their benefit. She has zero understanding of what is happening in either league, trends on the field/court, etc. Just hiring Dumars, without any kind of pretense of a search, proves that point.
If you mean she isn't educated on the sport and everything that goes into running a team I'd agree. Like I said I wouldn't doubt that she thought "let's bring in a Louisiana native that the fans can root far" without a single thought into whether he was a good option or if that is what the fans wanted. I think she is a bit delusional at times with the atmosphere she wants to build and it has clouded the direction of the franchise.
Are you suggesting that Willie might be a token? That would certainly put the icing on the cake for the way things have been going lately for the entire organization. Anything is possible as to the motivation for having him there but it's probably just as likely they wanted him to be seen so the fans know they have his back and he isn't going anywhere. Probably a little more tone deaf and not in sync with the fans rather than trying to avoid appearing as racist.
