Since when does a coach have to be buddies with players? Most “player coaches” have been bad coaches. Steve Kerr is the only real success story of a “player’s coach” that comes to mind. This team is as soft as it gets. The team needs a coach that demands accountability more than anything. The “sorry I don’t curse,” personality has failed this team with Monty Williams and now Willie Greene. They are basically the same person.

If they don't have any credibility/track record and the players don't like them, then it doesn't matter how good of a coach they are, they likely won't be around long.

Phil was on the level of Kerr, but he still commanded respect and accountability. If you win, players eventually like the coach. The league is soft and it’s the mentality that these grown men have to pampered that is a huge part of the problem.

You might be 100% right but that doesn't change the reality of the situation. If the players don't like the coach, the coach isn't going to last long. It's so much easier to get a new coach than to replace star players.

I'd be more than happy with either Malone or Jenkins.

I couldn't care less about the feeling of our "superstars". This is a small market team, you can't win by strictly repeating what the big markets do. Let them run their top players pleasing service. It will also help to get rid of players that are ready to play hard and for the team

trading dyson daniels is and was disastrous no matter what anyone says. Someone undoubtedly will say we needed more shooting/scoring from the spot but i've pointed out several times that Dyson Daniels was a better shooter and scorer than Murray was in his first 3 years, and Dyson is one of the best defenders in the league especially on ball D.
