They're not even out picks and the ''more'' appears to just be Dyson?

    Wow.

    There must be further moves.

Pelicans just took on a bunch of extra long term salary in that move. Plus, while obviously the value is there (we traded very little out and got a real player back) the fit is very rough right now.

I like it as a first step, but final judgment will depend on what comes next.

Gotta be more moves coming we still don't have a big and we just traded one away for Murray.

    Just. Wow.

I love Nance and Dyson as people so I hate to see them go.

    But wow.

This makes Ingram for Allen very palatable for even me. I wish we could get a big and keep BI....but I dunno.

Yeah I’m not saying it’s a guarantee but fans need to brace themselves that we can still move BI.

Keeping BI is a recipe for disaster.

Either you have to move Herb to the bench too (lmao) or you have to bench CJ, in which case you're starting DJM/BI/Herb/Zion/A Big

If that big can't shoot, you are now starting the worst spaced starting 5 in the entire league, bar none.

    You're right.

This trade looks like a massive win for us. I imagine the next will be with BI and will look like a loss in a vacuum but the overall will be positive.

In a vacuum, I think it's clearly a win for us. We gave up relatively little and got back a legitimate starter calibre player at a position of need.

Before we can judge the overall though, we're gonna need to see the follow up. It'll either make this move a complete diamond, or turn into a retrospective fit-failure.

Bye bye cj McCollum come on down Hawkins it’s your time to shine , how old is cj 35 getting paid how much to disappear in big games I’m sure he can net us an average center

If we're being honest with ourselves we had to see this coming. We knew that they LOVED Murray, and really didn't love Trae, and the fact that it would cost LESS to get the guy that they loved... I mean I had prepared myself for this move. I like the move but we do need to see what else is done.

Pelicans are less than $3m under the luxury tax and don't have a starting C. Pelicans have never paid the luxury tax and, except maybe if they're a proven contender, never will.

Smoke has been going around BI getting moved for weeks now. He's the one with the prohibitive extension due.

Something has to budge and I think it looks pretty clear what that's going to be.

2/3 of Willie favorite players just got traded, I love it. It's kinda forcing his hand to play better talent.

Griffin : we want Brandon Brandon wants to stay we just have to find a number that works for both sides makes since for him to go to me be with some team his age lol undersized loves to shoot loves to dribble I say send his assx to Milwaukee for brook lopez simple fix got a big that can show Missi the ropes while providing what we looking for in a big for 2 years

Plus they keeping Alvarado ingrams best friend I think it makes more sense a big 3 of Zion Murray and Brandon
Over that with cj it’s been a joy to have him but I’m betting he’s the one that’s gone a lot of smoke with Ingram nothing on McCollum I know the okie doke when I see it lol

Makes sense that a 3rd team gets involved soon to add a starting C and change for BI. I doubt they would’ve agreed to ship out Nance, with just Missi left at C, if they didn’t have another deal agreed to.

    Huh?

Read it slow and you might get the gist of what I said , Brandon the one who told y’all we need a point guard it’s okay I know a lot of people wanted him gone but I’m sure it’s gonna be me president he can take his wine with em

  23. #798
want Jarrett Allen for Brandon lol that makes a ton of sense

Would love to do something with Utah if they're interested.

Walker Kessler + John Collins for salary, plus some picks, for BI would be the main idea.

Walker Kessler is a cheap C who protects the rim well, but who is apparently kind of on the outs in Utah - I've seen claims there's some tension there.

John Collins is a good backup PF whose reputation is kind of on a low, I'd love to buy cheap on him and see if we can maximise him - he'd be needed to make up the salary. Has shown skills as a secondary shot blocker and is a decent 3pt shooter for a big too.

If we could re-coup the 2 FRPs we just lost, that would be great and help keep flexibility for future moves too.

Aww there goes the Trae Young dream... but it was a good price at least. So... we have to get rid of CJ or BI now right?
