    New Fischer article.

Basically says that the Hawks are shopping nearly the entire team - only Risacher and Johnson are off the table.

Also says that there have been no real talks between the Hawks and Pels thus far, but also says that's largely because the Hawks have been more focused on the draft (and trading back into the 2nd round) than on roster moves and that's expected to change now the draft is over.

Fischer also says Young's fit doesn't make much sense as long as we have CJ, but there's no indication whether that's a sourced opinion that he's getting from somewhere or just his own point of view. Seems fair to think it might be a public negotiation stance: Griff saying ''we don't really need to overpay for a guard, we do have CJ after all'' so they don't appear desperate.

Fischer re-iterates that the Pelicans are one of three teams that Trae Young has as ''preferred possible next teams''.

Damn so we are a preferred destination for Trae Young, that feels good just to hear Nola spoken about like that for once. And again I agree Trae doesn't make sense with CJ. So we need to move CJ, and it will probably cost TM3 or Herb to do it, but I think it gets us to the next level.

Yeah I said a Trae/CJ backcourt makes no sense. While its true CJ can play off the ball as a 2... I just think we'd do better trading CJ and allow for a Trae, TM3, Herb, Zion and *insert center* lineup to eat.

Yeah. I never liked the idea of CJ as a 6th Man with our current lineup but it's the only way he could stay if we got Young. The only good way, I mean.

Borrego removes himself from Detroit Pistons coach search.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.

Yeah I think the long term goal should be trading BI for Trae and then once that's secured, exploring moving CJ.

Obviously if you could move both in a big 3 team trade or something that's also cool.

Wouldn't mind beginning the season with CJ on the bench, if that's what it took, but he would need to be gone by the trade deadline.

Ingram still a Pel . Even Trajan is getting moves done on Detroit. Perhaps just move on from the Hawks stalemate and take the Sixers offer.

Ingram would have been gone by now if Dell Demps were GM

Unsurprising; he wasn't getting that money elsewhere.

On the one hand, that's a cheap price for Dejounte.

On the other hand, that is the WRONG PG for a team that now still has BI on it.

We are going to lead the league in midrangers taken next year if BI doesn't get moved in another deal, and we just lost some of the picks that would be required to facilitate that.

Shot selection for the 2024-25 Pelicans is going to reek like a carcass.
