Bona to the Sixers - he was a fairly promising big man. Probably after Sarr, Kel'el, Missi, Holmes, and Mogbo, so that spot in the draft makes sense.

Orlando is trading No. 47 to New Orleans, sources say. https://t.co/9EpHPHoglF

Interesting, wonder what we traded for it.
Griff did say they had some interest in getting back into the 2nd round in the presser yesterday.
You may have answered this already somewhere else, but I'm curious as to why you prefer Trae over DJM? DJM, is at least a solid defender right? Where as Trae could be problematic on that end. Is your preference based on the cost to acquire? If so then I totally get it.
Also this can sometimes be an issue with a lot of fanbases, a perceived lack of effort in getting deals done, based on a deal not getting done. I've seen it a lot with the Lakers. In some cases a deal just can't get done because other GMs are trying to fleece you. It seems clear to me that the Pels are open to moving Ingram, but if it doesn't happen I don't blame them. Market just may not have been right. With that being said, he is a definite difference maker. So a team like the 76rs or another team that's right on the brink of contention might be willing to part with favorable assets to acquire him. In my opinion he's a great 3rd guy or 1b on a team that has a good 2a and supporting cast.
I know this is a big if.. I also know you're skeptical, but if the Pels could get a good PG, and keep Ingram, I think he would function a lot better. That's also contingent on him getting back to being at least a decent 3 point shooter. I might be overvaluing the effect of having a good PG would have on this squad, but it would really unlock Zion, and Ingram in a major way. It's something I would love to see.
The Magic are trading No. 47 to New Orleans for two future pick swaps (2030 and 2031), per source.

Need more information on this one Woj. What swaps? WHAT SWAPS.
Trae is just clearly the better player by a fairly significant margin. Best lob thrower in the league right now, top 3 passer in the NBA right now, electric pullup shooting threat with infinite range, and generates paint touches at a rate nobody on the Pelicans currently can other than Zion. Pelican need a talent upgrade, DJM is a lateral move.
DJM was a solid defender on the Spurs but has regressed since going to Atlanta. There's a chance that WG could get him playing better defense again but frankly, defense is not where we are desperate for help. We've been a top 10 defense for three years in a row - it's the offense that continues to crater whenever Zion is off the floor. We need help on that end.
Also, and this is just personal, but Trae is a little bit of a villain and I think this team needs someone on it who is willing to be a villain.

Pelicans are taking Antonio Reeves at No. 47, sources say. https://t.co/9EpHPHnIw7

Entirely unimpressed, wondering what the point was. He'll be good in the G League, I guess.
24 year old shooter. Didn't even have him on my board this year.
Pelicans trade into the 2nd round and take Antonio Reeves with the 47th pick. Made 44.7% of his 3s on almost 6 attempts per game last season at Kentucky. Five-year college player.
— Christian Clark (@cclark_13) June 27, 2024
I don't mind it but I'm not excited either. We've been asking for shooters though, he's a shooter, so at 47 it's hard to dislike. Taking a flyer on someone is better than nothing.
Griff. got no balls
Denver is trading Reggie Jackson to Charlotte for three unprotected second-round picks, source tells ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 27, 2024
What is Denver doing, man?
They're still going to be a playoff lock just off Jamal, Jokic, and MPJ, but they're letting KCP go, they're trading away Reggie Jackson, just shedding talent.
Will win even remember this trade in the year 2031?
He will be 24 in the fall. Ahot 47% from 3 on 6 attempts per game last year. Averaging 20ppg at a big time school in college is not easy. He must not be great defensively. Basically got him for nothing couple swaps. Pure 2 guard.
Everyone knows the most likely result is nothing happening, and even if it does happen, the offseason is not over. Getting ''Ingram is still a Pelican'' in response to everything is just needless doomerism.
Especially when you're using it to reply to something that has nothing to do with Ingram.
I am starting to doubt Griff and Willie are on the same page. If he can’t defend, Willie won’t give him the light of day. Kind of a head scratcher
By EPM, Trae Young was +2.6 and the 47th best player in the NBA this year. Higher than any Pelican this season. Frankly, I think that's underrating him even with this past year being a slightly down year on his production.
By the same metric, Dejounte was a +1.7, 103rd in the NBA, and was himself a solid -1.0 D-EPM. Negative defender by that metric (also a negative defender by BPM this year).
Comparatively, Trae Young averaged 26pts and 10asts per game this year for the third consecutive season and was top three in the league in potential assists (18 per game). His defense is not good either, but frankly, I think we have enough defensive talent and a long enough track record of achieving good defensive results that we can insulate someone who has that much offensive juice.
I know, but I also don't care. There's no need to keep bringing it up. If you know that BI hasn't been traded (yet) then so does everyone else. Unless news comes in to change that, you don't need to remind everyone of it, especially in reply to things which have nothing to do with Ingram.
