Zion needs to do some big leaguing for the first time in his career.

Everything we've heard for years is that he's been basically willing to leave team building to Griff and not push too much. Need him to change his mind on that and start making a demand.

Frankly, I'm sick of Griff's thing. He wanted to try building around people and going for ''sustainable success'' but it's been 5 years and we're no closer to a chip now than we were 3 years ago. In fact, in terms of playoff games won, we're further away.

He had his chance to run things that way. It failed. Now's the time to actually just get star star talent. Is Trae a bit of a villain? Sure. Maybe we need a villain. Zion's at his best when he's playing the villain - we all remember the 360 windmill against Phoenix, just sticking the knife in. I want that.

    Continuing my thought.....

Then again, Zion, Trae, and Trey is a lovely trio that should bring cheap ring chasing FAs. And if you have a perennial all-star that is choosing you...you jump on it.

I dunno. I like Trae. I like Murray. I like keeping BI. I just don't want us to end up moving him for "future assets".

Not sure how much of this is true and how much is just agents stirring up talk, but again, worth noting.

The thing is, if the Pelicans are in these many conversations and we walk away with nothing, I will implode - especially when Brooklyn in particular has basically no leverage since everyone knows they're just trying to get tools for a rebuild and have little desire to actually keep Claxton.

I really like the Trae and Zion pairing, but hate the CJ and Trae pairing. If we can somehow turn CJ + other assets into Trae that would be the move.

I don't think the Hawks are interested in CJ as a primary return (I wouldn't be, in their spot). It would have to be BI, since he makes more sense positionally for them and fits more in with their timeline.

That said, I do think acquiring Trae makes CJ expendable so while I wouldn't be desperate to move him immediately, I would be floating him in trade talks to see what we could get maybe by mid-season, once some teams have moved on a bit and the trade deadline market picks up.

Ingram not going anywhere folks. They have settled differences. Willie , Griff, Bryson don?t want to move Ingram .

Ingram would have been moved by now. Not happening. Zion likely wants to keep him too.

Someone on this forum says it's definitely not happening.

History says that means it's happening soon.

While I've said a bunch of times I think Griff is going to completely screw the pooch on this and end up giving BI the contract, ruining our future, the fact that no trade has happened yet doesn't mean that that it can't.

The phrase ''Ingram would have been moved by now'' is absolute nonsense. Trades are far more likely at draft time, often at the point an involved team is making the trade, than roughly 12 hours before.

That would be, in fact, very weird.

If a trade doesn't happen for BI I'm perfectly fine with letting his contact play out and letting him be a free agent

But the name of the game is consistency and consistency is always to be admired.

Griff said, when this offseason began, that he recognised that other teams in the West - even teams who weren't playoff teams this year - were going to improve, so we can't afford to be complacent.

    And he was right.

Warriors might be on the lock for Paul George, they'll be better. Memphis will have Ja back, they're going to be vastly better. Houston is even in talks to improve and they weren't dismal last year.

Meanwhile, Denver, Minnesota, OKC, Sacramento, Phoenix, they're all still there, running it back.

If we do not make a real move to tangibly improve the team, we are going to win 48 games next year and still never even sniff real playoff spots. The West is gearing up around us and we cannot afford to just assume us doing the same thing again (the same thing that got us a play-in spot) is going to work in an even tougher West.

Come on, Griff. You understood it well enough to say it. Now act on it.

Be careful what you wish for? Is this the best Grif. can do?

J.J. Wants Ingram in L.A. If this is true hope you like D-Lo

    This place got quiet quick

I'm still going to say they are not trading Ingram. Better than the alternative at this point. I doubt Griff. would just hand him over to the Lakers. Hope I'm right.

With all due respect, who the hell is ''CarusoHandle'' and why should we care what they have to say?

Yeah that "report" about BI and LA seems bogus. But it really has been eerily quiet there isn't much if any NBA news leading up to the draft. I can't imagine there are NO reports out there... Woj and Shams must have both gotten ghosted.
