Rim protection is the key to the best defenses in NBA history. It cannot be denied how important effective rim protection is. Shots right at the basket at the most efficient shots in basketball, and if you can deny those without also providing a ton of FTs, you are doing more to improve your team's defense than 99% of perimeter players, regardless of how good they are.

Look real close on the other angles available because you cant see it on this one. They never call it but he changes his pivot foot. He basically takes 3 steps after he picks the ball up.

Also to be fair, not a lot of centers are going to be able to stay with an All Star shooting guard on the perimeter.
