Pelicans Jen Hale let?s the Front Office hear it on the travel issues all year long.

The travel issues are unacceptable by the Front Office! Get our team better transportation! This before a big game. This is on you Gayle and the NBA .

I mean, she didn't really direct anything at the FO. Sounds more like bashing the state of the travel industry.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.

It?s a crappy plane they got. 22 hours to get another flight? Lots of people were at French Quarter fest.

This was after Knicks game earlier this year

Hale detailed the nightmare scenario for a New Orleans team about to play their fifth game in seven days. The team was supposed to depart New York before midnight for a less than two-hour flight to the Hoosier state. The Pelicans were packed up and on the plane at 11:00 p.m. but were informed at midnight that the plane's right engine was non-operational.
Sitting on the tarmac for an hour is no one's idea of a good time. Unfortunately, the Pelicans had it three times worse. They did not exit the broken plane until 2:45 a.m. Thankfully, the Golden State Warriors had landed. New Orleans needed another half-hour to swap planes, finally getting off the ground at 3:15 a.m. The team landed in Indianapolis just as the morning sun was peeking over the horizon.

Hale's travel log shows the New Orleans Pelicans did not get into a hotel bed until 6 a.m. There was time for a nap on the flight but unwinding after a long trip takes a toll.

Jen is actually misleading to an extent. It could have been way worse.

According to Flightaware, the Pels were originally scheduled to come home on Saturday around 1pm PST - not right after the GS game. The flight was still about 2.5 hours late due to a change in equipment. Delta has customized 757s for NBA charters. This flight was a standard 757-200. There are about 50-60 people in each teams travel parties.

Travel is arranged by the NBA - not individual teams. Back in the day, everyone flew commercial coach. Larry Bird has talked about this during the Lakers-Celtics Finals.

Agree, nothing at all directed at front office. Not sure where that came from.

Delta airlines? That is the best this billion dollar Association could do?

    Which airline should they use?

20 hours on a clear day nationwide that day to get another flight? This front office really does suck. Another way to look at it the airline industry don’t care for us. You think the Lakers would wait 20+ hours if this happened to them?

Travel is not arranged by the NBA. The Pels charter planes through Delta. A possible solution would be to get their own plane...hard to imagine Gayle shelling out the money for that though.
