New Orleans Pelicans guard Dyson Daniels has suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee and is sidelined indefinitely, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Daniels has been a key rotation player for Pelicans, averaging 21.9 minutes, 5.5 points and 1.4 steals a game (top 10 in NBA). pic.twitter.com/Hz2JZuqeu0

Well that's a shame.
I know he gets shtick (often justified) for his incredible inconsistency on offense, but he is a truly elite defender and a great connective passer.
Basketball.
It's unfortunate, but the team has the depth to weather this injury.
They have to use these minutes to develop Hawk.
Anyone know how he actually hurt it? I didn't see the Portland game, so I don't know when it happened.
I think he could be out 3 months. It depends on the severity of the tear and how they treat it. I really hope he?s back for the playoffs. It?s possible.

I've heard that its basically the same injury Trey had, and it took Trey three months. And isn't it also what Embiid has? If so, Sirius XM NBA radio had an orthopedic surgeon on to talk about it, and they said it all depended on what direction they choose to go. If they just trim out the bad part of the meniscus, its 8-10 weeks. If they actually stitch it up and repair it, its months and he would be out for the season.
