    $36,180,000 $38,860,000 $41,540,000 $44,220,000

That is his contract over the next 4 years.
Not sure that is a good contract, but we can both have different opinions.

He is locked into a contract for several years at a young age and much of it is not guaranteed.

Exactly. We know for a fact that a huge amount of Zion's money is not guaranteed. Pels reporters have been telling us that since he signed the deal, and even though they were late, national media reported on it earlier this year too. It's a well known fact that somehow people still constantly miss when talking about Zion: his contract is perhaps the most team-friendly contract among all all-stars (outside of rookies, I guess).
    Basketball.

    Yeah I forgot that.
Remind me out of that $36,180,000, $38,860,000, $41,540,000, $44,220,000 what is actually guaranteed?

Isn't the fact that his contracty is structured in that way telling?

It's injury insurance, understandable but ultimately to our advantage and nothing to do with his production.

Still feel like breaking up the team after watching them set the franchise record for points scored in a game?

When they do this against a contender like the Clippers, Denver, OKC or the Suns i'll change my tune.

Then you will never "change your tune." You clearly have your mind made up. Do you expect those teams to set a new franchise scoring record against each other? The Pelicans are not in the top tier of championship contenders currently. They may never be. However, they are a playoff contender and can make some noise in the playoffs. They would need a lot of luck to win a championship. However, trading for a bunch of unknowns is not going to get them there either, especially in the short term. It seems every time this team shows some hope, someone wants to blow it up for the almighty lottery tickets. This team is competitive and fun to watch. Enjoy it.

In the last month alone we blew the Kings out by 30, and beat the Wolves by double digits when they're the best defense in the NBA.

You didn't change your tune for any of that, why would we expect you to change it going forward?

    Edit: wrong team, corrected

So far this season, we are top 10 in offense and defense.

We have wins by at least 10 points over:

    - Dallas x2
    - Sacramento x3
    - Clippers
    - Sixers
    - Wolves x2
    - Cavaliers
    - Lakers

Several of those teams - Clippers, Sixers - are on the contender level and the rest are all at least in the running for a potential playoff spot.

The idea that we can't beat and dominate good teams is not an accurate one.

I don't consider the Wolves or especially the Kings contenders.

Clippers, Suns and Denver in the West.
Boston and Philly in the East.

If the Pels beat these teams then I'll "change my tune".

So you do not consider the #1 and #2 seeds in the west contenders?

Except, as already listed above, we have wins over the Clippers and Sixers this year. So despite having wins over those teams, you have not changed your tune. Forgive me if I don't take your standards as being too reliable.

Not as high on Minny or OKC.
OKC are inexperienced and Minny have Gobert, so he will not show up when it matters.

    Sixers?
So with no Embid...ok what ever.

Clippers....that group stage was a good win....yes, but that was back in November, both teams have gotten to full strength since they last played and they killed the Pels.

I am not miserable all the time.
    Basketball is just a hobby.

Then you need a different hobby. A hobby isn't supposed to make you miserable. Maybe try knitting or coin collecting if basketball isn't doing it for you.

Knitting basketball jerseys or collecting basketball cards?

Both perfectly acceptable, as long as they don't make you miserable.
