As of right now, the Pelicans are the 6th seed in the West with a .600 winning percentage.
At the same moment, the Clippers are the 4th seed with a .636 winning percentage.
These numbers are close. This will be a tough, competitive game in all likelihood and the Pelicans need to take it as a challenge. This is about home court playoff position and it cannot be understated how valuable these games against real competition are. Thus far this season, the Pelicans have played well against good teams (and annoyingly poorly against bad teams) but seem to be getting into a new gear as 2024 begins to unfold. The question is, can the Pelicans continue their recent good form?
Fun piece of trivia: Chris Paul is the all-time win share leader for both the Clippers and Pelicans, having picked up 76.4 WS for the Pelicans (AD with 72.0 in second place) and 78.2 WS for the Clippers (DeAndre Jordan in second with 76.3).
Let's see if we can keep 2024 looking positive.
