Time for Borrego Head Coach?

It's become pretty clear that this team won't be good with Willie, whether because he isn't a good coach, or if he is, the players have tuned him out. His constant yelling basic instructions in the first half v. LAL was desperation or exasperation... either way, it fell flat.

Considering he could be fired at year's end, or Borrego could leave for a hc job even if we keep Willie, should we try Borrego the rest of the season, while we have him under contract? Could evaluate whether he's the permanent answer going forward, and if he isn't, at least we get another look at the team with a diff coach, to make better offseason roster decisions.

stronger coaches would bench the guys coasting. I like Willy but is he tough enough when he needs to be? Im sure the players like him but do they respect him?

The barking of instructions was a surprise to me. Is that what NBA coaching is like? I’d find it hard to play basketball like that.

Willie has been a disappointment overall, but it certainly isn’t just last night. When we are good, we are GOOD. When we are bad, there is absolutely no plan B and things fall apart in an instant. He doesn’t have them prepared to deal with adversity at all. That isn’t acceptable for a team with this much talent young head coach or not. He can not coach the players through tough games. He can exploit certain matchups, but take route 1 from Zion away or have an off shooting night and we are almost always in big trouble. We have the best team we have ever had by a country mile, everyone is healthy and we look as inconsistent as a Gentry side. That is unacceptable. It’s on the players too, but the coaching is beyond underwhelming. I’d like us to freakin compete one of these days man, but if we can’t come close with this team, it will probably never happen.
