Ingram could have easily mad 3-4 steps more and get closer, but he is used to this shot so much that he is taking it every time.

I said it. And in our typical fashion it was just math problem. They take 3s we take long 2s, exactly why i was so low on this team to start the season. They fooled me then with that 6 game stretch where we moved the ball and tried more threes. We won some games and now we are ofc back to ******** play again because of course if you see something working, change it, it is not ok for Pels fans to have some happy moments, we like misery.
It doesn’t help that Dyson Daniels has no ability to draw a defense whatsoever.

That's a ridiculous excuse. There was time on the shot clock, and we needed a 3 to win so even if you were going to hail mary on a broken play, a 21 footer isn't good enough. Stepping inside the line to take that with 5 seconds on the clock - enough time that even if you made it, it would have only been a tie and they'd have had time for their own buzzer beater attempt - is awful.
    Basketball.

Can’t win when we have a 31 point differential in threes. We expend so much more energy than our opponent for less to show

Probably why we get hurt more than other teams

It’s really just coaching. He can’t keep them focused and he himself makes horrible decisions. He hasn’t had a good out of timeout play this season.

At least with CJ due back and hopefully Trey back not long after, the days of desperately begging people to take 3pt attempts will be over soon.

I don’t understand the play call there. Post Zion up… then throw a pass to a guy that isn’t set behind the 3 point line… it was jus inexplicable. We need to have something better drawn up.

  7. #132
Don't worry guys, IF we stay healthy that 10th spot is waiting for us!

  8. #133
If it makes you feel better, we had the same Utah disaster last year and we clawed our way to first in the conference in December

The play was dodgy, and the execution was worse. Just a complete mess.

Willie should be fired for losing 6 in a row to that team.

Maybe they should spend the night. LOL . Yeah I know they practise FT's but looks like they need more

Zion put him on the spot there. BI took a shot he is good at making. Problem is we didn’t have anything prepared so we ended up with a wild dish and a wild shot. Game over

This is just not a smart team all around. I mean you're taking a 22 foot shot when yiou don't need to...my gosh!!!!!!!!!!
Willie Green is in over his head with Pels just like Dennis Allen is with the Saints.

Let’s not forget this godly shooting coach that is actually not good at all.

Montage of Hawkins giving up open 3’s. Hope Willie doesn’t completely shelf him when CJ and Trey comes back

Exact scenario! It’s why both teams lack attention to detail in the worst way. Both coaches are abysmal.

This team was playing awfull to start the season, somehow won 5 out of 11, then we play great next 5 games and win 4 games out of 5 against very good teams, against top of our conference. We are now 9 and 7 and facing 2 games against 3-11 Utah Jazz who are one of the worst teams in the league and also have their best player missing for both games and 2nd best player for first game.
9 out of 10 people would say we are 11-7 after those 2 games, one would say we are 10-8. But Pels say lets loose both of them with one of the best teams in the league waiting for us on wednesday! GJ!

Tomorrow is Houston playing against Dallas for IST. Forget it, Rockets are winning, we don't deserve it!

We have really had bad luck with the coaches. Best coach we have had in forever was Monty and he was losing games this same way. I just don’t know if they will ever find the right guy. It’s really looking bleak.

  19. #144
All in all we are in a fine place. But these games hurt. You have to win these. I think the talent will eventually outweigh the poor coaching but we need to not drop these dude. Idk what else to say

Coach should forbid Daniels from shooting threes unless it?s absolutely necessary at the end of the shot clock. He is Ben Simmons 2.0!

I do not care at all whether it's a shot BI likes or not. It's not the shot we needed.

He did not need to step inside the arc. He chose to. It was a bad choice.
He did not need to shoot it with that much time left on the clock. He chose to. It was a bad choice.

Naji and Herb were both open with defenders nowhere near them, he didn't even have to shoot it at all. He chose to.

And the nail in the coffin for why it was a bad shot: even if he made it it would have only tied the game with enough time on the clock for them to score again anyway!

Bad shot selection, bad clock management, not looking for the open man. It was a horrible moment for him.

I hope you’re right. It’s hard to get optimistic because the coaching may be as bad as the talent is good. They really lack a lot of the elements that coaching is needed for.

You can argue that it's on WG for not drawing up a better play, and I'll agree with that. Why not a Zion/BI pick and roll, for the most obvious example?

But he didn't. So you're running what you were told to do, and those are the spots everyone is in at the moment you make the decision, and you make the worst possible decision. Not lean into the jumping defender for FTs. Don't take two dribbles to waste the shot clock and get the FT line jumper instead of the long 2. Don't pass to wide open Herb or Naji. Don't use the time on the clock to take the sidestep dribble away from your leaping defender for the 3.

No. Take the 21 footer one step inside the line without using any of the shotclock.
