Pelicans November 12th - New Orleans Pelicans vs Dallas Mavericks - 4-5

Herb still questionable. Naji upgraded from doubtful to questionable. Everyone else still out.

We can’t catch a break in this state. It is a curse to be a fan here. We have Dennis Allen and Willie Green just having their teams unprepared at any given moment.

    Naji Marshall makes his return.

Listen, I've had criticism for Naji before, but I'll repeat what I've said. He's no star, if he's starting you're in trouble, but he's a really solid end-of-bench rotation piece; a good 8th or 9th man. And right now, we could really use another viable rotation piece. Thank you for being back, Naji; hope you play well.

Dyson's been hitting a lot of those floaters so far this season. Would like to see him rely on it less and use it more for versatility, but it is going in

Generating a lot of good looks, especially off Zion actions - they're doubling him on the catch - but nothing's going in so far. JV, Hawkins, and BI have all clanked 3s off passes from Zion in the post or elbow.

JV makes the first three of the game

    Daniels hits a 3

Naji made 3 FTs in a row, establishing himself as one of our most reliable FT shooters of the season thus far

Naji with a made 3, already showing his worth

We're playing alright but we're leaving a lot on the table still. It's like, not the best but it's working so far. Hope we can tune up as the game goes on, warming up a little.

    Rough turnover there

    Why is Nance here, man?

I do not respect the grift, Tim

Really poor few minutes from Zion.

Nance continues his absolutely abysmal season.

I will just say, the lineup helped nobody. Don't use it again. That's the second time we've run lineups with both Nance and JRE on the floor at the same time and it's just not necessary. It sucks. Learn the lesson, Green.

willie should have played ingram for the whole 1st because he was cooking.....zion came in to give ingram a rest and the team went to hell.....

zion,,ryan and nance are a bad trio on defense....just bad...

I honestly think Green, at this point, is just trying out one nice lineup and then trying to normalise the minutes by putting ''the rest'' out for a few minutes. So you get a lineup that works for a few minutes, followed by just a load of nonsense for a few. Zion plus Nance plus JRE at once is just stupid.

Point Zion needs not to be a thing

Kyrie just burying bombs now, we're answering back with 2s, it's just not good enough.

It can only be a thing with spacing. If you play him with one shooter and give him the ball, they just collapse on him and it's horrible. If you're not playing shooters, use a different ballhandler.

I will say one thing - a lot of people have been saying just wait until Trey gets back, his shooting, his range, his defensive versatility, his improving handle, his off-ball cutting should level this team up.

If Trey makes a big enough impact to fix this team's various problems, he should be in the MVP conversation. That's how many holes need patching.

Dyson Daniels has been, without a question in my mind, the best Pelican on the floor tonight thus far.

With all due respect to Dyson, that should never be the case.

What an awful first half extremely lucky to be only down by 13. Zion especially was bad.

To be fair Zion needs to look for the shooters. He had Mat Ryan open at least two times and completely ghosted him.

Totally fair. He was fine with the starters in the first quarter but when he came back in after sitting, he was terrible. The worst he's looked this season, easily.
