I'll worry about things when the actual season starts.

Just postponing the worry at that point. Lol

Said it since Jrue left; this team needs a point guard. You've got players trying to fill the role thus detracting from their individual games. (Please don't say, "We're missing Jose")

As long as there are no more injuries and they stay around .500 until January, I'll stay interested.

In the meantime the doomsday knee jerk crowd can have it.

It?s very smart not to get your hopes up with these guys because let?s be honest- this franchise is rotten from top to bottom and has been for some time. We?ve had some abysmal luck and have made some godawful decisions that have cost us chances to take the next step. Even if we looked good this preseason that means jack. They have to prove it on the court. We should have been an easy playoff team last year and we barely made the play-in. Says it all. We wait until our third season of a rebuild to go with a rookie head coach. Like how dumb are we.

But- at the end of the day- don?t judge them by this preseason. It means little. Players are probably trying to avoid becoming the next statistic for us and pick up a season injury. I don?t think Zion and BI will be this passive once the season starts. I do question the Zion/BI/CJ fit as 3 distributors is a bit much and can be a case of too many chefs in the kitchen, but let?s wait and see once we have a game that matters. At least J Hawk hit some 3?s tonight. About the only positive thing I can say so far.

I’ll say the Trey Murphy injury is definitely the gut punch. He was the X factor on how good we could become due to his shooting and we lose him start of the year.

We're halfway through camp, into preseason, and the head coach just straight up tells the media that they haven't put in any half court sets involving Zion

    Genius stuff

This is absolutely unreal. I’d fire him before he leaves the podium.

That is pretty concerning. Just what have they been doing?

FFS it's preseason. All for the pitchforks in real games. But this hysteria is crazy.

I personally think they are really testing Zion and BI’s distribution and making it the main focus. Having said that, we don’t want to completely embarrass ourselves in the process of doing so. Hopefully we look better in the future fixtures.

This team can be top 4 seed if everyone is healthy. But we are still loosing in first round of playoffs because 2 of our top 3 player don't want to face the truth.
Brandon Ingram and CJ Mccollum are much better at taking catch and shoot threes then they are at dribbling for no fing reason and pulling up for long 2 over deffender. If they don't realise that, than we have nothing to hope for.
The amount of times both of them took unneccessary dribble over their carears is .....
Both Ingram and CJ need to learn to pass and take easier shots, untill then we will be incosistent team which can loose or win on every given night and that is characteristic of a play-in team.

It's not hysteria, I don't think anyone is saying the whole season are doomed. But you can only talk about what you see, and what we saw tonight was miserable.

We've now seen 96 minutes of pre-season basketball and about 15 minutes of them were good. Everything else has been bad. Don't care what the results are, the process is bad.

I still think CJ should be 6th man. Literally the perfect guy to fill that role. It’s not that a CJ,BI, Zion lineup can’t work- it’s just not worth it when Mcollum could light it up from the bench and keep your team afloat throughout the game. Too many ball handlers on the floor is part of the problem with the offense in my mind. Swap CJ for an offball shooter (shame Trey went down) and let CJ control the second unit. It just makes more sense.

    Couldn’t have said it better.

This is the same coach that, when asked about why Temple was playing, straight up said he just didn't know.

Ingram needs to learn how to pass?

Probably basic principals such as getting the ball up the court, playing with faster pace, testing out different lineups, what to do off basic actions. The usual stuff you do with a new scheme in the first 9 days of the season.

Otoh, they will have 8 days between the last preseason game and the 1st regular season game to start putting in player specific sets without letting the world know. If not sooner.

Yes, he has passing skills don't get me wrong, but decission making leaves a lot to be desired. He just takes unneccessary dribbles when he should actualy move the ball, especially when Zion is on the floor.

Why for like the last six months when I try to access this site it throws up some kind of pop up that seems super scammy? The tiny flow this site gets can't afford to have such gross invasive adverts.

Passing Ingram is the most fun version of Ingram. When he really decides to move the ball, he sees some great opportunities and usually hits them - he's not Lebron or Jokic or Nash but he's good. I do agree that he should go to that well more, and do less of the isolation-into-contested-middie stuff, but in fairness to him he was doing that consistently at the end of the year last season. I'm willing to give him the preseason to get it out of his system now.

The man shot damn near 50/40/90 last year against one of the highest amount of double teams in the league. You cant do that being stupid and inefficient with the basketball.

He knows how to score and when to score. He knows how to pass. He doesn't need to make concessions when Zion is on the floor and especially if the defense is crowding Zion. BI is also playing defense now. He was the only one tonight that decided to at least try to match the Rockets energy on that end.

Zion did not play with any energy tonight and people are on here trying to baby him once again. Even if he's not getting spoon fed touches early, that's no reason to mope around on the other end and on the boards. Then refuse to be aggressive when they do give you the ball. And he needs to expand his offensive game still.

The Rockets played very hard tonight and were trying to be as disruptive as possible. They succeeded. The Pels did not get the memo. It happens.

    Better now than later.

    Fast brerak points:

    Rockets - 28

    Pelicans - 1

The turnovers alone do not explain that. Low energy, low urgency, low execution.
