For those wondering what Trey is going to cost us to keep next year, take a look at that Cam Johnson signing and add another few million a year on.

I don?t think she should either until this team shows it can win and stay healthy. Can?t blame her.

The Pelicans are one of only two teams in NBA history who have never paid the luxury tax. We're not paying it until we're a title contender, at least - and yet, how often do teams become title teams without paying the tax?

It's the old conundrum. Basically, if you're going to be cheap, don't buy an NBA team.

    CHEAP??????

What's cheap about 'giving'...'gifting'...'throwing' $ 197mm at a four year veteran who has played a total of 114 games and never sniffed the playoffs? It's so easy to call Gayle Benson cheap when it ain't your money.

Also, probably the team is the Seattle Sonics and not the New Orleans Pelicans if she didn't own the team.

That's why I've always been in favor of a hard cap. It works great for the NFL

What's cheap about it is the revenue he brings in. Owners aren't in this to lose money. It's a risk but the gamble is that he brings her more money back than she spends on him. Let's not confuse this being a business or not.

Pardon me, but what's your point? Did she not fork the money up?

Can someone get in touch with Herb via his flip phone or his pager or his fax machine or whatever he uses and get him to agree to a new deal?

    Hey! Just as predicted!

    4 more years of Herb!

The good news: Herb is back and that's a very good contract value. He's going to be outproducing his contract pretty much immediately.

The bad news: That's probably it for our entire offseason now, from Griff. I'd be pretty surprised if anything else really happened.

It's like every time we came close to that hump where we should pay, a serious injury or player tantrum ended that era before we could.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.

This is where we're at right now. Gotta cut some salary so you imagine the obvious place is Temple but there's also the possibility of a trade involving people like JV, Kira, Naji, etc. Let's see how this goes.

Oh no, not Pelicans legend Josh Richardson
