The Miami Heat couldn't beat a Lebron-less lakers. Damn,
The Lakers winning without BOTH AD and Lebron is a most unwelcome development.
A friend mentioned the idea of trading the Lakers' swap pick now. I never really thought of that. I tend to agree with him that the Lakers are far more likely to wind up in the play-in than as a top 10 lottery team. So maybe it is best to maximize any value now? Depends on the trade offer, of course...

I get this point of view. However, I'm holding onto that Lakers pick no matter what. The odds are very good that AD and/or Lebron will get injured AGAIN. Is anyone confident that AD will come back from this foot injury and not suffer another, completely unrelated injury that causes him to miss a month or two of games. Or Lebron for that matter.
Lakers have won 4 in a row now and are just 2 wins back from a play in spot. They are now tied for the 9th-11th spot of the lottery.
Unless LeBron loses an arm in the next 2 weeks, time for Pelicans to use that pick swap in a trade for some veteran scoring off the bench.

You will reap the consequences if you are not listening. Still plenty of time. Grif will make move soon
You want the Lakers to win tonight. Yes playoff position will be critical in April. The more losses for Dallas the better Pelicans are in long run. Go Lakers!
I much rather play Lakers in 1st round rather than Utah in 1st. We play UTAH we are screwed
Westbrook making free throws now
Lakers are so much better without Davis.
Lakers will make the playoffs

Adding Rui will be a boost for them. Ah well.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.
BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.
Another Pels loss/Lakers win...ugh
Looking at the schedule we might free fall to the 13th spot even with BI in the lineup.
Nice to see the momentum swing back in a more positive direction (for both teams). I remain hopeful the Lakers can screw this up and give us a top 10 pick.
The Lakers are now are slated to pick 6th in the draft with a record of 25-31. Orlando is 5th at 25-33. Charlotte, San Antonio, Detroit and Houston all have 15 wins or less so there's no way the Lakers end up with one of the 4 worst records.
However, they made a bunch of trades yesterday. It will be interesting to see if these reinforcements actually help them win games. Sure, D-Lo is likely better than Russ, but by how much? Is Mo Bamba any good? He could barely register minutes with Orlando. Malik Beasley is a 3 point specialist who is shooting 37% from 3 this year. I guess that is better than what they've had.
I don't see these moves making them much better but we shall see.
We shall see.
I think they improved. But I don't think by much. And of course, all these moves are for naught if/when Lebron and/or AD get injured again.
