Fell asleep off ball a couple times. JV got mad at him for not attacking the ball on a rebound.

But other than that, his minutes were promising. A little better than you'd expect from a 19 year old defensive minded rookie in his 1st game.

that definitely wasn't Naji hate. but i get why you are sensitive to it i agree

Meanwhile the "deepest team in the league" got throttled in OKC missing PG and Kawhi.

Very weird time of the year though.

I tend to feel that way but it?s good for morale and it gives incentive for other guys to work harder on that side of the game. Not worth it though to drop games in that manner. At all

In four games, the Pels have had 4 different high scorers, and it has yet to be Zion.

Yea, I saw that. He probably needs a little bit more of a dog in him.

If they can play defense, in the top 15 of the 30 teams, they will be a top 4 seed.

My biggest critique of Dyson tonight was his passing looked very sloppy. Not like he was turning it over left and right but he threw a lot of funky dishes. Needs to clean it up a bit.

The story of the game is a team win but also a signature game from TM3. He really shined with increased minutes Willie is going to have to find a way to get him some extra time even when BI and Herb are healthy.

The Dyson takes are so disingenuous. +/- watching nonsense

  15. #190
The plus minus for him is off because the Mavs were the better team but the Pels had an insane shooting start that gave them the cushion to withstand the other 38 minutes or so. And Dyson wasn’t on the floor for that crazy start

He was great defensively and played within himself offensively. And barely 19, with his first real
Minutes on National TV. Kid is gonna be real good

His off-ball defense was great too. He did a good job knowing when to help and when to stay on his guy. I feel like he's a pretty impactful player already.

He struggled in the post with CWood, but CWood is good, so I'm not surprised.

His rim protection for his size is already elite. When he adds weight is truly going to be special. It will allow this team to be so much more versatile defensively

We were behind going into the 4th quarter and battled back to win. It wasnt just a hot start that allowed the team to win.

Single game +/- is the worst stat that people use when they think they're being ''analytical''. There are people out there who hate ''analytics'' just because they think it all boils down to single game +/- and that's a shame.

As of today, 4 games into the season, the Pelicans have the league's 2nd best adjusted net rating, the 2nd best adjusted Ortg, and the league's 8th best adjusted drtg.

DD may never be a prolific shooter, but he does everything else that wins basketball games. not especially pretty... but effective to winning! similar to Draymond G

Still think that this team, even when fully healthy, is still a guy away. And I have always assumed DD would be giving us good minutes in the 2nd half of the year. But what I am starting to think now is that they need one more great defensive rebounder for these switching lineups Willie loves to use against teams with non elite bigs. Even if Olynyk misses that shot, we ain’t getting the rebound. Zion or Herb aren’t great rebounders. One more wing who can get those boards in small lineups. Honestly, you take out Devonte and you add Hart and this is pretty much a perfect team

  23. #198
What do you think the odds are that we can actually pull off a trade for Hart. Would be huge for this team

The Laker swap would probably get it done

Agreed. Would love to know how much more we would've had to include to keep Hart and move Devonte. I know there's still a sense of pride in the Devonte move where they think "if he had just played next to Zion." Still, yes, one more move will be necessary either this year or next. Will be super interesting to see when they play their cards, or if they wait out this Lakers team. Hard to tell which guys will be available at this point in the season
