After a thrilling second half comeback, the New Orleans Pelicans managed to go 1-0 to start this season. This is a change from last year, where we also debuted on the road against the Raptors but came away with a loss, so the more things change, eh?
Of course, there were things to be concerned about and things to appreciate in last game, but regardless of anything else it's a sample size of one game, so it's hard to take too much away from it or make any serious conclusions. That leads us to tonight.
We Have A Christmas Day Game!
Merry Christmas to all, and hopefully our gift from the team will be a nice W over the reigning EC champions, the Miami Heat. They dropped game 1 against the Magic, who were boosted behind big nights from Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier. That doesn't mean they were bad though: Butler started his season with 19 points on basically 50% shooting with 7 steals, and Bam threw in 25/11/4 on 11/16 shooting. With 22 turnovers though, they had something of the Pelicans curse for themselves.
Let's head into the Christmas game with a positive outlook, hope for the good to continue, and keep our fingers crossed for a win in our stockings, or something else similarly festive in theme.
