Thread: Transitioning to Free Agency...

  1. #51
I don't see anyway Wood would have stayed here long term anyway. We had at best, his Early Bird rights which only allows a contract of league average salary, since we claimed him off waivers.

    I think that's right

Melli is basically Wood anyway and defends better

Van Vleet expected to re-sign with Toronto

News so bland that I'm not even gonna bother finding the Tweet.

Goldent St's tax bill about to be $134 mil after they take on Oubre.

    Just the tax bill.

I think they can whittle it down over the season as long as they aren't hard capped

I am somewhat surprised we didn't tend a qualifying offer to Kenrich Williams. With all the guards on the roster, less surprised we didn't tender Frank Jackson.

So quick question. Is Darius Miller's contract guaranteed for this season as well?

Can we trade Bledsoe and Hill for 2 2022 1st rounders already

His 2020/21 contract becomes fully guaranteed if not waived by July 8, 2020
That was pre-covid, not sure now. I'm gonna guess yes

    Actually I'm gonna guess no

Okay. I was gonna suppose we keep him for added insurance due to the changing conditions we may see.

My gut feel is that he will be guaranteed for this season. He isn't yet

I was under the impression that we would have a deal done already to sign a BIG with Favors resigning with Utah.

I like the long term vision, but I need some damn news.....

At these prices, I'm okay waiting out the market a bit. The only guy I might have been tempted to take a swing at is Christian Wood as he's a big that would fit very well next to Zion, but even he is a bit of risk given his small sample size as a starter.

I'm more skeptical of our failure to fill some holes with our picks in the draft as I thought it had some good role-player prospects the late 1st/early 2nd range. We chose to kick those picks into the future and also chose not to hold on to a lot of our role players. Hope there is a clear vision for the free agents that will be brought in to fill that gap and balance out the roster, but we'll see.

I'm fatalistic about the season at this point. I think whatever happened down in the bubble, it poured some cold water on the franchise in terms of how close it was seen to being a real contender. The Zion-hype had raised the Pels profile very high. I think it's come back down to earth, while teams like Phoenix, Dallas and even Memphis are seen as further along than we are currently...

On another point...how many bigs are the Pistons going to bring in?? Grant, Okafor, Plumlee, Stewart, Dedmond...hey, maybe they need a point guard!

It was so funny on draft night because everyone on all the draft pods and on Pistons twitter were like ''Yeah! Killian Hayes! Woo!'' and then as the bigs started rolling in it just turned into confusion and dread.
