I'm just over here trying to keep my expectations down but they're starting a fire.
Good positive energy.
But also, yo mama's fat.
Sindarius Thornwell has been a good pickup.
Wow we look impressive now.

JJ dropping F-Bombs in the post-game
JJ went nuts. Frank and Jaxson with solid stat lines.

This was a satisfying win. And I know it doesn't matter at all, but I really liked that we held a 4th q lead even though they put Giannis back in for a bit at the end.
Biggest positive for me was how aggressive Zo played in the 2nd qtr. On both sides. Drove to the basket looking to score. Also, loved seeing him trash talk Middleton on that missed jumper.
Does anyone else feel like Favors looks a bit heavier? He really doesnt appear to be moving very quickly at all these days. Maybe its just the stark contrast from Jaxson.
I hope the bench can carry their play into the season. The Pelicans bench looks downright scary at times playing against opposing teams starters during these scrimmages. If NAW, Hayes, and Jackson can be competent and allow the starters adequate rest, while Hart does what he does, and Redick shoots well with the reserves, the Pelicans will be tough to defend.
I’m glad we’re winning but none of it transfers. Whole new season about to start on Thursday. I hope our dudes are ready to ball for real.
You’re going to have accept the realization that the starters will not play 35-38 minutes a game during this restart. You’re looking at 30-33mpg max and the reserves will need to fill in the rest of the minutes. So yes, NAW and Jackson will play meaningful minutes. How those minutes are distributed will depend on their play obviously but they will be counted on in the rotation that’s for sure.
Even if you slot in all the starters for just 30 minutes (that's gonna be low unless there's a blowout), you still need to feed Hart, JJ, and Moore something around 15-20 minutes each well before you get to NAW or Frank since neither of them have proven to be effective in the minutes they've been given. Factor in that Ingram will play the 2 or 3 in bigger lineups and that JJ will probably get something approaching starter's minutes and there's no reason to put NAW or Frank on the floor when we absolutely need every win we can get. We already have a 10 man rotation (Jrue, Zion, Ingram, Zo, Favors, JJ, Moore, Hart, Melli, and sometimes Hayes) and there's no way Gentry expands that when the games matter more.
That was quite the way to enter the board
Was that you? My bad, I forgot exactly who it was at the time.
For what it's worth, I haven't given up on Garland completely, it's still technically his rookie season and while he wasn't great, he did improve throughout the year, so there's always that. I just think it's a bit funny how completely all-in on him you were, to the point of thinking not drafting him was going to be this huge huge huge mistake.
Oh Man... Undefeated preseason. I hope it goes better than last time when games really count.
Hate being the pessimistic one, but it is what it is... Winning a lot of games that don't matter is our mo.
