STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH!
I survived Katrina, but nothing I owned did.
That's the man talking, take it to the bank.
He also said "their not there yet". It will be interesting...
Stern says that there is a LOT of WORK to be done before it can be approved, but if they are met, it's pretty much done.
Surprised that he included suites as something that still needed significant work.
Wow! He said some of the suite commitments are still verbal. Also, there are not written confirmations of some of the ticket sales. Huh?
Stern is getting pissy with the questions.
Oh wow, Stern is a bleeping bleep, huh? He thought he could speak clearly!
His arrogance is getting old just in this press conference. I cannot wait to hear Wooldridge's response. Is he raising our benchmarks or does he mean we have to meet the benchmarks already set?
One thing I know, New Orleans had better start selling a lot of tickets!
leave it to the local media to ******** him off. he said what we had to do....and if we cant do it, then we dont derserve it. the "ball" is in our court...its up to us, now lets get this done, so they cant stop this, he said what we had to do!!!!!
Coangelo up.........
Emphasis on where seats are being sold. Need to sell club seats and finalize sponsorships!
This is as good as saying the team is ours. This should get the doubters off their butts and to the ticket office!
I can hear the screams of disbelief in CLT now. Talk about burst their little bubble.
Way to go.
Regardless of what happens next, one thing is obvious. Charlotte has pissed off the league as we have said all along and they don't care about how they "used to support the team" either.
I think that they are more ticked at the owners right now than at Charlotte. I'm upset with both.Originally posted by Harvey Hornet

Of course, this comes from a Charlottean.Originally posted by Hornet

Hey, I said I was upset with both (the owners AND Charlotte).Originally posted by HORNETSFAN

WOW! What a great press conference. I feel like this is a done deal. I have every confidence in guys like Bill Hines to make sure that the sponsorships, club seats and suites are finalized.
Hornet,
How can you say that you think the owners are upset with Shinnridge? Did you see Woolridge and Colangelo embrace as they left?
i think we can get it done also.........but if we dont, well most probally never get another chance at this, we got 1 shot and its going to be at the buzzer! we can be micheal jordan and make it look easy, or we can be Chris Webber for Michigan in '93...its up to us!
They are so upset with the owners they are basically giving them the green light to finalize the New Orleans deal before they even vote. I have said all along that the league cannot stop this move legally. They came here knowing that. The only thing they can do is hold them accountable for the information they are giving the league. Who is denial now. CLT.com must be about to blow up.Originally posted by Hornet

Maybe I'm wrong. But if I were Stern, I'd be upsert with the owners. Shinn and Ray are probably the most unpopular owners in the NBA right now..Originally posted by Burtifus

Hornet=izzydean(sp?) I put him on my ignore list once, I can do it again.
Here we go....can't I simply post my opinion without getting blasted?Originally posted by JimEverett

Stern, though guaranteeing nothing, appeared impressed with the amount of progress made in New Orleans given the short time frame in which we've had to work in. Good to hear.
Are Wooldridge and/or Shinn about to hold a press conference themselves?
