I kinda wanna resist talking about this, because I don't really care that much about the Blazers or about Carmelo.
But... the prospect of them playing Carmelo and Whiteside at the 4 and 5 together is... amusing.
Basketball.
I’m going to hold off judgement until I see him in action.
The way Dwight is playing for the Lakers as a backup may have given a desperate team like the Blazers the confidence to take a shot...and it might be worth it.
I say let him play. That way I don't have to hear the incessant talk about him not playing.
It won't work like that.
If he's good, you will hear endless talk from old heads telling you he was good all along because nobody else can score like him and how mid 2000s isoball is still good because Carmelo can get buckets on everyone (ignoring the last decade in this analysis).
And if he's bad, you'll hear people like myself pointing out how bad he's been for a lot time, and how his style of play is not conducive to winning basketball.
Unless, of course, Melo finally reaches that holy grail that people have been wishing he would do for about 7 or 8 years: power forward, catch and shoot, off ball Olympic Melo.
