Thread: Untouchables

    Untouchables

It's only been a few games, but I'm curious as to who on the team our group think are 'untouchable'. Obviously, most will say Williamson (on promise), but who else? I'm one who thinks that the team will be active at the trade deadline in February. What say you?

    Untouchable: Zion, INGRAM, Ball

    Everyone else including Jrue tradeable

Zion and Jrue with Ingram being close, but I'd still trade him in a package for a superstar like KAT if something happened where he became available. But I think Griff really likes this roster and won't make any moves unless something he absolutely can't pass up comes along.

Zion. I can see literally anyone else being moved. Frank and Moore are the most likely (Frank because he is super cheap this year with bird rights upcoming) and Moore because I’m sure some team would love to have a good 3 point shooter. Jah also makes a ton of sense, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t want to give him a shot here. I’m really high on him. I’d trade Jrue just because he infuriates me sometimes. No other reason.

Zion is untouchable. Ingram may be untouchable. Its so incredibly valuable in the NBA to have a player like Ingram that I dont think you can really consider trading him unless youre doing so for an even better wing, and youre not getting Kawhi or Paul George. Everyone else can be had for a price, though the price for Jrue should only be a super star level return IMO.

I think he likes the roster as well. Having said that, we have Moore's and Miller's contracts which together are about $16 million in expirings that could be used to add a piece at the deadline. However, it may be tough to add a quality long-term piece with that. I would think he will be keeping an eye on the Pacers. If they fall out of it, maybe Turner could be had with expirings and a pick.

Yea I guess I should have caveated (is that a word?) Moore, who seems like he's clearly not going to be in the rotation and has a good salary for a trade. Turner is someone who I've thought a lot about and I think pulling the trigger (something like Moore, Miller's contract, Frank, a first and 2 seconds would seem like a decent baseline) would come down to how much the Pels believe in Hayes and how quickly they think he can contribute.

    Zion is the only untouchable.

Ingram and NAW are "you can only touch them if you come at us with something great but they are undervalued now....so it probably won't happen".

Jrue is in the "we could trade him but we would want a ransom....and we currently have more draft picks and young promising talent than we could feasibly use...so it would be pointless" category.

    Everyone else is fair game.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.

Zion, Ingram, Hayes, NAW, Jrue, Ball.

I think Redick, Moore, Frank, Favors, Okafor, Kenrich, Hart are all players I would trade if we got a fair trade.

In order to get a really good player you have to give up something really good.

Why would you trade Ingram? For a chance to get another player like...Brandon Ingram?

All the draft picks, Ingram, and Hart. Because finding players like Hart for your bench is not easy.

I agree with the Hart sentiment. IMO he has quickly become the "hart" and soul of this team.

Zion is the only real untouchable. Ingram is about there, but remember, he has an injury history and we're about to have to max him.

Yeah. Zion is THE untouchable. But I mean, I'd flip Ingram for Embiid or Giannis. Maybe someday I'll like KAT. But I'd rank them evenly, so I'd take KAT for Ingram too. Maybe. Probably not. The offer would need to be considerable to move Ingram. Ball less so. I just...I expected more from him. But it seems he's content to defer ball handling duties more. Which is hardly a bad thing.

    Zion, Jrue, Ingram, Ball.

I feel like Lonzo is under-appreciated. His knack for the game is elite and has such great vision.

Yeah. People are way devaluing the word 'untouchable'.

Anyways, I'll wager one or two of the guys on a lot of these lists won't be here after the trade deadline.

Not arguing about it. It's pretty clear from the context that I meant that's literally the entire list of names according to me.

I think Frank is a guy you want on the team long term, but I think he will net us a nice profit as he has a skill set that would fit any system.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

IMO as of now I have Ingram/Zion in tier 1 untouchables with how dominant we know they can already be and the super star figure in Zion. Makes very little sense to split up this versatile wing duo with elite potential.
I would have Hayes/NAW on the list as my tier 2 untouchables but it sure would take a lot to pry away.
Jrue I think would just be stupid to trade but I wouldn’t say he is an untouchable simply due to how young the championship core to our team is. Which is why he is even more important to me by being here and showing these kids how to be unselfish pros that play the right way.
