What do you guys think? Did Durant's contributions over the past 3 seasons warrant such a gesture?

He hasn't been there too long but he was the main factor in winning two in a row.
R.I.P. to HunnyB/FlyGirl
They're trying everything they can to not look like the villain. Iggy deserves it more than Durant but they pushed Durant to play and he popped his Achilles so they are trying to deflect from that.
Their medical staff totally misdiagnosed KD's injury, so now they are tryin' to make up for their ineptness. This is merely a goodwill attempt otherwise known as a 'CMA' Gesture.
Lame. You don't support ring-chasers in their prime.
Too little too late
Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams
Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston
Basically this.
Besides, he won two championships with them in back to back years and got 2 finals MVPs. In NBA finals without KD, Golden State are 1-2, and that 1 win came against a Cleveland team that was missing Kyrie and Love. It makes sense for them to retire his number, it's not like Curry would have been winning them all those titles on his own.
Basketball.
