Bulls looking to trade Dunn. I am assuming for cap space. Trade Moore in a three team deal?

So, we might as well get a Jumpstart on building a culture.

I can say.... Philly gonna need to actually get to an ECF for a half a decade of tanking to be even remotely worth it. All that tanking and it only got them Embiid and Simmons. If Simmons do not develop a shot. He could be joining Noel, Markelle, and Okafor
Yeah I don’t get the concept we should be continuously tanking for assets. We already have the assets. We have the best single prospect in years, 4 or 5 additional young/rookie talented players, 5 first round picks in the next 3 years, like 7 second round picks, and expiring contracts in the next few years that time up perfectly to add max level talent just as our younger players hit their prime.

I mean the above is exactly what you are tanking for, and we have it right now. It’s not about accelerating the rebuild, it’s just that we are already past phase 1 (accumulate assets). We are on phase 2 (compete while developing young players, maintain flexibility for the future).

    After that it’s ??

Free agent guard Elfrid Payton has agreed to a two-year, $16M deal with the New York Knicks, agent Ty Sullivan and Aaron Mintz of CAA Sports tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Can't embed for some reason. Payton gone. I hate to see it, but it's obvious we couldn't keep him I guess.

Is his specific plan for Hayes to take over for Favors next year? No I don't think he specifically planned that out. I think he saw Favors as a great fit for the team and our system and jumped on it. If Hayes is ready next year, great, if not I would expect we will do something similar next off season either with Favors or another center.

If it were me, I'd probably try to do an extension with Favors now. Add 1-2 more years to his deal at similar money. My concern is next summer is such a weak FA class we might have to end up overpaying to keep Favors instead of losing him and being forced into putting too much onto Hayes too soon.

But given the situation we were in, I'm much happier about having Favors on a 1yr/17m deal instead of Horford on a 4yr/109m deal.
Very good post. This is what I think as well. Griffin has a general plan but often you have to act when opportunity shows up. I would also try to extend Favors now and definitely this is way better move than signing Horford to a philly like contract. I would actually hate it

I wonder about Moore. There seems to be a general consensus that he will be gone. The more I think about it though the more I think that he fits the current roster more than the previous one. He is a very solid shooter and defender with average handles and IMO he struggles with shot creation but with facilitators like Ball or Zion he could give us solid production. He often played SF position and didnt do too bad. His also seems to be a high character guy. I think we might keep him.

I hate to see it, but we have too many guards on the roster atm. Good for Elfrid- I hope he does well.

Depends on what we want to do at point guard. If we are going with NAW and Frank as backups there then keeping Moore makes sense. It might be hard to keep him with Dunn on the market.

Someone needs to put out a wellness check on MSU now that Elf is definitively gone.

Shams Charania: Free agent Troy Daniels has agreed to a one-year, $2.1M with the Lakers, agent Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports tells @The Athletic @Stadium. Daniels gives the Lakers an elite shooter to pair with LeBron James and Anthony Davis and does not affect the team’s cap space.

[QUOTE=Sleeper;1499584]Depends on what we want to do at point guard. If we are going with NAW and Frank as backups there then keeping Moore makes sense. Will Ingram play some at the point? Will Jrue? Can we get someone like Rondo on the cheap? Can we swap Moore for Dunn from the Bulls?

    Too many questions

Edit: Didn’t mean to quote myself there. Damn tapatalk.

Yes we seem to have too many guards but not enough point guards. If we can move Moore for a very good back up point guard I guess it has to be done but I wouldnt just trade him to make space

I agree with that. Moore is a guy who should be a team's like 7-9 type bench player. Instead he got the 5th most minutes on our team last year, in a season we were tanking after the all star break. The guy who got the 4th most minutes? Darius Miller.

We never had enough true starter players so Moore was forced into bad positions. Most of the 6-10 type players need talent around them to really be successful.

This season we've got a solid starting lineup, good bench depth, and a lot of talented youth so Moore shouldn't need to shoulder as much responsibility. His fit with this team's need is actually a good one.

    Excellent rebuttal.

Also, I'm hearing waves of Kawhi doing a 1+1 with the Raptor's.

If Ingram don't work out. We can make room for a max next year. If Hayes and Zion show out next year. I'd throw a max at Kahwi with little hesitation. Would he come to NOLA..
    I'm 99.9 positive that is a nope

They might as well put a turnstiles infromt of basketball
    ...

Granted, it would be an improvement on defense. I always get caught up in them sometimes.
