I may keep it. I may donate it. Either way it's not getting worn on me.

Tough dilemma if you burn it you should definitely do it on camera lol you could always wear it with tape over his name for disrespect purposes

Keep it. Maybe you’ll get lucky like I did with my old Reggie Bush jersey. The Saints signed Rafael Bush a year or two later and he wore the same number.

While I get that, I'm really hoping that Jaxson Hayes ends up wearing #23 just because it would be funny.
    Basketball.

I don't have any gear, but I don't know what I would do with it. not wear it because it sucks losing him.

Honestly without winning the Zion lottery I'd be at a pretty demoralized point as a pels fan, but zion changed that.

It still sucks hard to lose AD though, as I feel he has a good chance to lead the lakers to an nba title in the next several years and win an nba. And I'm not even sure that Lebron will be part of that. My worst fears are AD winning a title with the lakers and an MVP when he is about KD's age now, which means it would be with another top 6 type non-LeBron max player....

the lakers didn't necessarily get AD for the purpose of pairing him with Lebron, although sure they are going to see what they can do the next couple. They got AD to sign him to a long extension and pair him with another top 6 max player when he is 28-31 and still in his prime and Lebron is off the books …..

let's just hope Zion creates something special of his own here

AD isn't signing a long extension, imo. He's going to do what pretty much all top, top stars do these days: 2+1 or 1+1 on the max, giving flexibility. If he signs a long term extension, then he's setting himself up for failure because Lebron's about to fall off the cliff (not next year, but within the next three or four) and the Lakers aren't going to have a good time acquiring big names. Partly because they have no money, and will have even less once AD gets his new contract, but also because the Lakers don't see big name FA's that often: they usually trade for them, and unfortunately for LA, we have all their trade assets until 2025.

keep it, wear it and embrace your teams history. people make decisions you may not agree with all the time, doesn't mean you have to hide away your hurt feelings the rest of your life. Its still a pelicans jersey.

Because of the circumstances around his departure, I'd have a burning ceremony with my buddies.

Do you burn all your memories of the times spent with exes?

I don't burn them, but when I met my wife, I ended up throwing away personal stuff from old gf's....

It wasn't meant as a disrespect, just why would I keep this, I've moved on with my life, those are from a different chapter of my life that is now closed.

I view AD the same way, even if he left on great terms, that chapter in the Pelicans is now closed, time to move on!
