True. But a lot folks around the league believed the Pelicans would blow it all up and Jrue would be traded right after AD. Whatever Griff's intentions, it makes complete sense to say he's not trading Jrue for the same reasons it makes sense to say he wants AD to stay and will consider keeping him to play next to Zion. It could be all about leverage. Jrue's price is higher if you say he's a cornerstone of the franchise and you don't intend to move him. That's not going to stop GM's from calling Griff and making offers.
OR... Griff really has no intention of ever trading Jrue Holiday, even though he can opt out in 2 years and become a free agent.

Latest AD News: Chicago has stepped
up as the potential third team. Kuzma
is involved in the trade, Ingram is
NOT.
NBA
Lakers get: AD
Pelicans get: Lavine, #7, Lakers 2020 unprotected
1st,Kuzma and Hart
Bulls get: Lonzo, Solomon Hill and our #4 pick
This does NOT mean the trade is done, it's simply
the most recent offer being closely discussed.
Sorry for messed up format.
I think Ingram got to go if want another Max Slot. Leaving Ingram out simply the bare minimum. He's leaving next year anyway. Maybe we can flip Lavine for a Future 1st. Get Garland at 7th?
The thing with Thybulle is his shot looks fine, he gets good elevation, and has a high release point. Giving his ft% and touch around the rim I would be suprised if he was not at least a league average shooter with the potential for more. On defense its really all about projection, he has not played in a man scheme since Romar left. However, he is incredibly disruptive and plays his ****** off. He is also a plus athlete. Since the finals ended I could easily seeing him being a Danny Green level piece.
I think Jrue will opt out of his contract after the 20/21 season. He'll be 31 years old, and if the Pelicans aren't competing deep in the playoffs, I don't expect him to sign for anything less than a 4 yrs/near max. If he's going to take any sort of discount, it would be for a chance to play in the finals. He may love New Orleans, the organization, and his teammates, but he will likely be looking at his last big pay day and chance to make sure he's on a team that maximizes his ability to compete at the highest level for a championship. Everyone knows how competitive Jrue is. I think winning will be very important to him. More so than being a team leader.
Jrue is awesome. I don't want to trade Jrue, and even if it's for two more years only, he may have more value to us than what another team is willing to offer. But I think his value is at the highest it will be right now, because of supply and demand in the market and the number of years remaining on his deal.
I wouldn't shop Jrue Holiday, but I'd listen to calls. YES - I think it's a big deal that he has two years left on his deal. It's less of a deal if no one is offering you premium value.

Probably just speculation. I cannot see Ingram not being in the deal if there is any truth to how much Griffin likes him.
well blood clot ingram is a little bit of a risk. If they can switch that #7 to #4 i kinda like it
If Ingram added, it is not completely terrible, although Lavine's contract is not pretty and he is very ball dominant.
Lavine is a pretty solid player. a 20 point a game guy, 45% FG, 80% FT, 38% 3PT, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, shoots about 5 FTs per game.
I would counter back with:
CHI: #4, Ball, Hill
LAL: AD
Pels: #7, Lavine, Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, 2020 unprotected #1, 2022 unprotected #1 and 2021 swap rights.
Still would not be blown away (mainly because I am not a fan of Lavine), but improves deal. I almost wonder if it would be better to cut Chicago out and keep Ball and the #4.
Got it, Im not in love with Lavine he is literally one of the worst defenders in the NBA. He also lacks any semblance of basketball IQ. His ceiling at this point to me is a volume scorer off the bench. That player in theory is fine, but being the headliner in a trade package for a top 5 player in the NBA is lacking.
The LA Media is wild. I thought I was having a conversation with a Laker fan about them overvaluing their assets (by telling him “if they are so good Griff would have accepted them by now.”)And he demanded that I put forth a trade that would be better. Thing is there are better trades that are being offered it’s just that only the Lakers one is being leaked because the Lakers can’t keep their yaps shut. If I give him a random trade he will (presumably) fire back with either “that’s an impossible trade”, or “the Lakers trade is better”.
Anyway, feel free to get at ya boy, and give him your best offer.
