I asked a few people around the league about who they think is the next Pelicans GM. One name keeps coming up - Trajan Langdon. The Pelicans really like the recent G-League EOY and it seems he's popular league wide as well.

Shamit seems to be of the view that Langdon is the favourite. Everything I've heard seems to agree with that. It's a good choice so hopefully it pans out.

Would love to hire Ettore Messina.. Hiring Langdon and Messina would be one hell of a good start to next season!!
Sources: Memphis Grizzlies assistant Jerry Stackhouse is in contract negotiations to become the next head coach at Vanderbilt. Emerged as a primary candidate in the last 24 hours. Nothing final yet, but the two sides are headed towards a marriage.

News: Washington has fired their GM! So they are now also in the hunt for a General Manager. There's some chance that they'll be competing over some of the same names that we are.
Gosh, if you thought Dell was bad,

For those worried if Washington's opening has to potential to scoop GM candidates from the Pels - it's possible. But Pels have a much cleaner cap situation and the ability to acquire far greater assets by trading Davis. I mean just look at the John Wall contract.

The grass is always greener, eh?
Seems like we're a bottom feeder and then someone else comes along and you remember it could be worse.
The Pelicans began conducting interviews for their vacant GM position at 9 a.m. this morning.

Have confirmed the following candidates are on their list:
Danny Ferry
David Griffin
Larry Harris
Trajan Langdon
Gersson Rosas
Tommy Sheppard
Nothing really too new here in terms of names, but the GM interviews are on! Progress.
They know we're recording a pod today. Trying to get out in front of us. I see you Pels. https://t.co/2wiSWd53B5

I agree. Honestly, because we were told that the list of candidates was in, before Washington fired Ernie, I suspect that Sheppard is just a last minute addition for the sake of options. I don't think anyone is actually taking him seriously. I could be wrong, of course, but I think that's the case.
Sam Hinke not on the list?
Former Suns and Cavs GM David Griffin -- widely regarded as the most decorated executive candidate on the open market -- interviewed with the New Orleans Pelicans today, according to a league source

“Griffin & Ferry favorites since they’ve been there, done that and franchise needs someone to nail the Anthony Davis trade, not learn from it.”
FWIW, NOLA also likes Langdon a lot & search firm Pels hired has history w/Brooklyn, where Langdon is #2 pic.twitter.com/7G1vcrQWzY
I agree here. Lots we don’t know about Langdon
