If Hayward returns to Utah, Danny Ainge is going to look bad this offseason. He already failed to land PG13 and the Cavs will probably run through Boston again.

Supposedly they've been trying to move Aldrich to get that contract off their books

He'll just go swim in his money pool with all his draft picks and feel a lot better.

Who is better for the Pelicans Nick Young (age32) or CJ Miles (age 30)? and at what prices?

    How about both?

Crazy thing is the Celitcs might miss out on all the stars, and next year they will be in the same Position. Gosh I love Boston screwing up.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Young seems to be gunning for the MLE. He has several suitors. Not sure I would invest a 4 year MLE deal for him.

"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

Worse position. Weak free agency class & both Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley are free agents.

No he hasn't, he's been asked whether we were looking at an impact player. And he answered by questioning if Holiday was one.

That just means yes we look for an impact guy and that is obvious. Does not mean we are moving Jrue.

Holiday literally can't be traded until Dec. 15. We just signed him as a UFA.

    96. When can a team trade a free agent it signs? Do they have to keep him forever?

Generally a team only has to keep a player for three months after signing a contract or December 15 of that season, whichever is later.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Not quite sure what you are reading. he specifically said He could quantify if the Tweeper thought Jrue was an impact player. That's pretty straight forward. Why would he involve Holidays name at all if the question had nothing to do with him?

If you slip up once your fired Erman steps in.
Finch, by all accounts, was a person Gentry - not Demps, and not ownership - sought out.

I may not have trust in Gentry to lead this team yet(hope he proves me wrong this season), but we at least need to give credit where credit is due. Gentry sought Erman and he reportedly sought and is actively highly receptive to Finch's input and offensive re-structuring. He seems to know how to put a good supporting staff around himself. That is one thing he at least deserves credit for.

Technically Jrue is still a free agent, a sign and trade is still possible though highly highly unlikely.

Well of course not, but its the offseason, its that period where we start setting our expectations for next season lol. Lots of space to fill in before the season starts for sure, lots can certainly happen. That was just my snapshot of where I would feel things would fall if the season started tomorrow, knowing full well it doesn't.

Because he is asking the poster to define what a "impact player" means. He is using Jrue as an example of a suggested parameter.

In reading that, it sounds like he is comparing whoever we are looking at to Jrue in terms of "impact." However, MM has said on many occasions that he did not feel that Jrue moves the needle much more than someone like Lin or Rubio. So, that may be the level of player he is talking about. I highly doubt we have what it takes to get someone like Bledsoe or similar.

Fair point, though agreements made during the negotiated period are rarely, if ever, modified once agreed upon.
