For the love of God, stay in the freaking East.
"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
Sounds like something is brewing:
They like other guys more and feel like they have a chance to get them and need every tool at their disposal. Watch wat Dell does next https://t.co/PssO1dzZKA

He is trying really, really hard to pull off something bigger than just the 9th men types we've been hearing. I can tell you that. https://t.co/9orWyVUVmG
— Pelicans Podcaster (@SilverAndMac) July 3, 2017
Yes, and he is not currently a free agent. https://t.co/59cx2fdkl0

It takes two to tango. Just because the Pels are being aggressive doesn't mean that they can land guys. But Dell is super, super active. https://t.co/255mldUWzB

I don't know because I don't know how much other teams value our assets. But Dell is trying to sell them on what he's got https://t.co/kGpMSygQ59

I highly, highly doubt it. Not the type of guy they are targeting. https://t.co/DXGvdUTYlQ

I'm going to say it's a PG, and I'm going to guess it's either Bledsoe or Lin. I'd be happy with either, but this article makes me lean more toward Lin:
https://www.thebirdwrites.com/2017/7...ter-draft-pick
Why is MM's tweets and articles still posted here like the guy has any credibility? He is ALWAYS wrong
Just throwing this name out there...mike conley.
How many first rd picks would it take to get him if memphis decides to blow it up with how deep the west is getting?
For some reason, I think he may be a name to watch.
His contract is too large. We can't put together a reasonable trade package for him without sacrificing one of AD/Boogie (or mind-controlling them into taking a pu-pu platter of hot garbage), which obviously isn't happening. Jrue is ineligible to trade since we just signed him as a free agent yesterday, so that wouldn't be an option either. The "fourth piece" we're pursuing will have a much smaller contract than Conley's, which makes sense because we're adding him in addition to our "Big 3." As a result, some sort of compilation of role player contracts will be required to pull of such a trade from a salary perspective, barring the intervention of a third team.

"Dell is busting his butt right now. 20-22 hour days. He is committed to a top 4 seed kind of team"
— Pelicans Podcaster (@SilverAndMac) July 2, 2017
And no, my source is not Dell
In response to:
"What realistic moves are possible to make the Pels a top 4 seed? Bledsoe maybe.."
Or Lin IMO, but I am in the minority https://t.co/AGcuc9ugF8

Bledsoe and Holliday would not be an ideal fit!!
But can you say EXPLOSIVE!
ILL take it. IF healthy Jrue and Bledsoe should be able to lock down some opposing backcourts. Itd be fun to watch
Hopefully that's for the best...jrue played really good for the limited minutes him and tyreke shared the court together. I think another ball handler the defense respects makes the game easier for jrue. It also would allow him to expend more energy on defense. If McNamara's tweets are indicative of anything the pels might pull off a trade that could be pretty good.

I think right now you have, barring injuries:
Warriors
Rockets
Spurs
Thunder
As your 1-4 seeds.
You have the Wolves in a spot they could end up in that number or slip lower based on fit of players(not a lot of good shooting in a 3 point driven league).
Jazz if they get Hayward back in the mix, potential lottery team if not.
I think that realistically leaves 2-3 spots up for grabs that the Pels should be in the mix for. Competing with the Blazers, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Jazz(with Hayward) and the Clippers. Its an ugly and ridiculously tough battle, but maybe this offseason will lead to a constitutional crisis with Silver and owners much quicker then many thought.
Plus how would spacing work with Eric jrue and hill???
Lol nvm I didn't see your post
The only thing saving the East IMO is they have a few up and coming teams in Washington, Milwaukee, Philly, and maybe the Celtics if Ainge can stop hoarding. But thats seasons away in all likelihood.
But even then there is a fair chance someone like Wall ends up in the West next year. Lebron Makes his way West on some team like the Lakers that have the cap space and flexibility and deep pockets to support his dream team with all his buddies coincidentally coming into FA next season.
There is no way in hell I would give up this much for Bledsoe-
That's the kind of offer you make for a superstar player, not someone like Bledsoe. If I am Pels today, I am throwing a godfather offer out for Bledsoe. QPon, Ajinca, Moore and picks in 18 and 20. Swap rights in 19 and 21
