If the Pel's get lucky in the draft or suck really bad we get to keep this pick if we land top 3.

With NBA going small I am very happy the Pels are doing the opposite with possibly one of the best pair of bigs in NBA history. I can't wait for the first game with boogie and AD on the floor together

There's nothing in that article that implies that he's unhappy about being a Pelican. It says he was told he wouldn't be traded and was shocked that he was. He's also losing out on money, so it makes sense his agent isn't thrilled.
Cousins has said he love New Orleans. He's from Mobile, so it's as close to home as he can be. He's playing with one of his best friends in AD. He'll be winning alot more.
All these things makes me believe that he'll be happy here. Get out of here with that negativity!
First of all, I'm new here so sorry if sometimes I make some mistakes but english is not my native language.
Cousins is a man who really values loyalty. He was loyal to the Kings, even too much as it turned out. If the Pelicans organization, the city and the fans will make him feel welcome he will sign a new deal with NO. I wouldn't be too worried about it.
Concerning the twin towers issue, I'm really happy to see a team trying to build a contender with dominant bigs and not with running and gunning chuckers. That's why I will love watching this team. Not only because of DMC, but also because of this different basketball approach. I think it can work very well. Of course DMC and AD will need some time to adjust, but they are two modern bigs who can spread the floor, can shoot from outside and can dominate inside. If Memphis can be a very good team with Gasol and Randolph, I'm sure New Orleans can be much better with these 2. If they click, they can be really scary.

I'll just weight in quickly as a I awake to this trade. 1st anytime you can get a player of Cousins talent that's in the NBA always makes it a positive for the team. Honestly I had no idea we had the assets to trade for Boogie not sure how we out bid Phoenix, Boston or Washington or any team that's been linked to Cousins at any point in the past. This could be that trade that potentially saves Demps job long term. Also god how terrible is Sac's front office if that's the best you can do for Boogie. This trade is all positive for us as the pick is top 3 protected, Evans was gone, Hield had some major concerns, and Galloway isn't anything special. I still can't believe this actually happened. The Kings will be trash for years no major FA will ever sign with them for a long time after telling DeMarcus he's safe then turning around and not even telling him they traded him and for basically scraps. Great day.

Hot dang! I don't pay attention to bball for a day or two, and I come back to find we getting Boogie!! This franchise just became very interesting to watch.
I think it came down to us being the only team that believe we could resign him. Still thought we would've had to give up 2 firsts at least.
There is so much to love behind this trade, but the biggest one is that we didnt give up too much to roll the dice. Everyone keeps saying we only gave up one 1st, but adding Buddy kinda made it like giving up two of them. 2016 1st, 2017 1st, 2017 2nd Tyreke and Galloway is an incredible steal for arguably a top 10 talent.
But lets not act like this will just instantly work. The team needs to jell, Cousins needs to calm down, and we have to resign him down the road. Alot that can go wrong, but at worst we didn't mortgage our future like the Nets.

The Pels now have the best pairing of NBA Big Men since Duncan/Robinson. If AD, Jrue, and Boogie can gel we will have a top 5 team.
