For the record, on the season the Pels are giving up 17.7/8.2/3.9/1.8 and allowing 37.4% shooting to small forwards.

If you Jimmer it, they will come.
Or another way to look at it.

He's still a bit inefficient but he sure came through for them when they needed buckets late.
I'm not sure what the obsession is with Barnes though, we didn't have enough cap to sign him not to mention he may not have wanted to come here and be third fiddle.
The only reason Barnes won't end up an anchor contract for that team is because they seem poised to be in the high lottery the next couple seasons.
9-24 from the super star smh..
Another way to look at that is he is shooting about the same percentage as Hield. Buddy would look a lot better taking 20 shots per game.
I'll take our three guys over him but I am a Barnes fan

How and why is this still an ongoing discussion? No one gives a ****.
I would have rather had Barnes than Galloway, Moore, and Hill but if he didn't want to play here then so be it. He is now an enemy.
Except that is a slightly below average shooting day for Barnes. He is at 46% from the field and 28.6% from 3 on the year.
For comparison Davis is 51.9% from the field and 28.2% from 3.
Barnes is not a very efficient scorer so far this year. I like the guy but he would be the third option on our team and probably fourth after Reke comes back. He may not have wanted to come here.
I don't think AD is the person you want to pull to make that comparison.
AD has been the model of efficiency this season. Only dipped below 40% one game and he made up for it by getting to the line 14 times and grabbing 16 boards.
On the other side, the supposed answer at 3 and D is shooting 28.6% from three. Only .4% better then Davis. I like Barnes, but only for a notably reduced salary.

barnes have more than one off day in 16 games.....ish smith was 9-24 or something worst against OKC last season for us on a 7 or 8 man team and posters were killing him for that type of stat line but its ok for a super star like barnes to have more than one game like this.....im looking forward to see how this season works out for him on a new team....he wont have the playoffs to go MIA so he should shine in the regular season......
dear god this thread is still going.....and yet it is so bad that i decided to help it along. People still care about barnes??
Just to add more fuel to the fire, let's assume that we never resigned Asik and go back in time 5 months. If we were able to sign Barnes a max deal (which is almost the exact amount of those two players' combined salaries) we would have to play Ajinca 24 minutes a game. Ajinca's been weird because I saw so many really like him this summer and make arguments that he should start, and now many on here are talking about how they want him off the team. I still think he can be useful but his defense is atrocious. If he was playing instead of Asik, but we had a better wing player because of Barnes, would we be winning a lot more games? I think we would, but we would still have major unfixable roster issues, so I don't see why we should lament not signing him because he was never going to be the savior of this team.
For all the people whining... the 4 pages in this thread have mostly been against Barnes. This website is for discussion so if you don't want to read something then shut up and don't click it. What is the point of commenting on a thread because you don't like that other people are talking about something that doesn't interest you? It's not like this site has had breaking news and stuff to talk about 24/7. Again this thread has been mostly against Barnes with a few posts simply stating how they would have liked to sign him and how he is playing like some said he would. The ones who went off how terrible he was just don't like it but that's ok. Admit you were wrong and move on. I thought Rivers was going to be a very good player and I was wrong. Oh well **** happens.

Still wish we would have signed Mo Harkless instead of Solo.
He is having a nice season after 20 games.

Yeah Harkless would have been nice
What was really impressive was his defense against Aldridge and Leonard. He covered a little of both and completely took Aldridge out the game holding him to 5 points going 2-9 while Leonard was 5-16. His versatility is one thing i liked a lot and being able to lock both Leonard and Aldridge down at different times is pretty impressive in which not many players can do. Barnes going 8-15 if pretty efficient when being guarded by Leonard.
Barnes slacking tonight. 11pts
