“I’m about to save New Orleans,” Hield said.

Just kidding, he clarified. He always wears the jersey like that. But assistant Robert Pack, the Pelicans’ head coach for Las Vegas Summer League, noted Hield is already taking on a leading role.

“He’s just been vocal,” Pack said. “Right from the beginning, the first huddle, he was talking to guys and getting guys going. That’s energy, and that’s infectious.”

I don't have any news for SL, but I can tell you I'm really excited to see Buddy, Diallo, and Inglis play.

    Starting 5 appears to be..

    Drew
    Buddy
    Inglis
    Diallo
Minnerath (hope we sign this guy)

The reason I started this thread because, there was a thread posted about the summer league starting in two weeks. But to get any info you had to read over a 150 posts.

    SL starts today

It is all about defense and...Buddy

    Robert Pack on Summer League

This week provides the chance to lay a foundation. The Pelicans “want to be one of the best defensive teams in summer league,” Pack said, and Hield will have to do his part.
“We just want Buddy to pick up on the little things as a scorer,” said Pelicans assistant Robert Pack, who will coach the summer league team. “He scored a lot of different ways in college, and it’ll be a little different. Guys will be putting their hands on him a little more. He’s going to have to work through contact.”
“He’s in his right spots. He’s working hard,” Pack said. “That’s the main part, if you’re willing to learn and willing to put for the effort. All the details and techniques and things he’ll continue to learn, but as far as being in his right spots, putting the effort in, he’s where he needs to be.”

Buddy can still play tonight even thought he isn't under contract? I hope so.

Is the NBA app not having a summer league special this year? How can I watch the games?

I think our first 3 games are on ESPN. Really shocker for Pels but I'm happy I don't have to watch a fuzzy, skippy link.

Because of the new tv deal I don't think they are doing the SL pass. Which is a shame because now I have to find another way to watch.

I don't really want to sit in on a Friday night watching a Summer League game, I was counting on SL pass to watch the games when I had a chance. I'm kind of upset that they don't have it this year.

Unfortunately my internet provider did not strike a deal with ESPN so I can't stream through Watchespn.

Most of the rooks are without contracts. There are deadlines of it.
    He and Cheick might play.

Im looking forward to watching Hield and Minnerath. Hoping we find a way to sign Minnerath looks like he would fit in nice off the bench. A Jason Smith type but can knock down the 3.

Btw, Brett confirmed with Diallo that he is starting tonight and he expects the same for Hield.

So we should see our guys get plenty of time tonight.

    Here's a question for everyone:

Outside of Hield and Diallo who will you be watching the most tonight?

For me it's going to be Ingles. I'm interested in LD2 too but Ingles I think could be a keeper project for us.

BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.
