He had good players around him at Oklahoma but not guys who compliment him like these two. Just about everything he did was creating for himself with defenses game planning everything around stopping him. Makes it much harder to try and stop him when AD is every teams biggest worry and problem.
The problem is unless we get top 3 I think he is well gone before pick 6,7 or 8 comes round.

I hope we get the 3rd pick. I think if we get the 1st or 2nd pick he will definitely trade it for a Butler type player.

I'd rather keep it and have Simmons, Ingram or Heild than Bulter. Only player I'd trade them for is PG.

I can't see us trading a top two pick. That would be incredibly dumb.

Nobody is trading a top two pick this year.

Two years ago top pick was traded...
    It always can happen again.
F.e. BOS is 3rd now (and can go up) and they are looking for an impact player...

And yet refused to discuss the hypothetical pick for Kevin Love who they could have had a year early. A pick that could be third or worse. I'm just saying, the Cavs were in a very very very unique situation. Barring some absurd, idiotic team(think Kings), there is not a team that is going to trade Ben Simmons or Ingram for a Jimmy Butler. I don't mean to speak in absolutes, but anyone great enough to be worth one of those guys won't be available.

I don't see anyway we trade a top 2 pick for Butler. He's very good but with his injuries and the potential of the top 2 players no way.

Timothe Luwawu / Demetrius Jackson / Tyler Ulis / DeAndre Bembry

are all slotted to go iat the onset of the second round by nbadraft.net as of 4/25

in your opinion, would this be one of the deepest drafts you can remember if this were to happen?

I will be super happy with any of them
still dont believe that they will last till 39 & 40...

At 6th pick, I think, Pels should take one of this: Jaylen Brown, Jamal Murray or Buddy Hield.

And with the 2nd round pick, i think in, maybe two of this: Thon Maker, DeAndre Bembry, Patricio Garino, Timothe Luwawu, Juan Hernangomez, Cheick Diallo

People - Luwawu will be lottery pick. Not 39-40th...

For 2nd round I will be happy with any of Brice Johnson, Bembry, Brogdon, Selden, Layman (mostly Seniors)

I promise you La Lakers will trade it. Its a guranteed unless a miracle happens. They wanna win now, their owner is under ENORMOUS heat to speed up the process. Their plan will be to attract free agents, so when they get a top two pick, Blake Griffin, CP3, Irving, Westbrook, Butler, etc will be their targets for KD or other free agents this summer.

Ima hit the dougie in a gimp suit on Sunday Mass if we get Thon Maker. I'm a big believer in him.

I hope we take a serious look at Whiteside. Having him play with AD would be the best big man duo in the NBA on both sides of the ball hands down. Teams would have some serious trouble matching up with us. We then have next off season to add a solid player at the 2/3 depending on what we draft. I have a good feeling we can move Asik and it's possible with the new CBA their might be a way to cut ties with him. People can say oh but Gentry didn't use a center and blah blah. Well I don't think he had much of a choice with Asik being hurt and terrible most of the time.

Luck out in the draft and get Ingram at 2, then sign Whiteside.

    Jrue
    Qpon/Tyreke
    Ingram
    AD
    Whiteside

Looking at Whiteside and Drummond's numbers, Whiteside is just as dominant as Drummond, but a much better defender. Interesting and impressive. I'm all on board for Whiteside.

Also AD and Whiteside could possibly be the best shot blocking tandem in NBA history.

Whiteside is not a better defender than Drummond.

he indeed does, but drummond takes a lot more shots than whiteside, if u go look at their Per 100 possession stats, Whiteside averages more points, shoots a much higher FG% and shoots a much better FT%.

I have no idea how much he will get, or how much we should pay him, I was just talking about hypothetically adding him to the team.

    As for the roster:

    Jrue/Frazier
    Qpon/Tyreke
    Ingram/Ellis
    AD/Cunningham
    Whiteside/Asik

There is a reason why Whiteside was coming off the bench when Bosh was healthy and it wasn't due to his offence.

Just because a player comes off the bench doesn't mean he isn't better than the player he is replacing. Look at people like Manu and Crawford. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong, but I am saying what I have seen from the games I have watched Drummond and Whiteside, Whiteside is the better defender to me.

    Blocks? Is that the reason.

No not at all, I just think that whiteside has more natural instincts when it comes to defense. He always seems to be in the right place, when I see Drummond on defense he looks either out of place at times, making the wrong reads, or focusing more on trying to get the rebound.

Let me ask you genuinely why do you believe Drummond is the better defender?

I'm so excited about this draft. I think we're going to get Dunn or Murrey. I prefer Dunn. He's so explosive and is a leader. He's awesome on defense and I think he could develop into a star. He's great on the fast break. If we landed a good 3 and D SF in free agency like Batum or Barnes I would expect a potentially very good team. If we draft Dunn we could trade Reke down the line and continue to build.
