1-6
We're getting dangerously close to passing Orlando and New York as well.
Thank ******** for Davis getting shut down
Jake Layman in the 2nd would be nice. High IQ 6'9" SF

I agree. Has the right body for a wing in the league these days. Our advantage comes at being able to play AD at the 5 and playing "small ball" still with plenty of size on the court. I see Layman as a decent 3 or 4 in small ball. I'd just lock him in the gym for the first year or so to work on his shot and get him to work with that company that worked on EG's shot.
I just think he would be an awesome role player..... like a bowed-up Luke Babbit with hops
he's ranked #42 on draftexpress (one spot ahead of Nigel Hayes), but isnt in nbadraft.net's 2 round mock.

Had no idea this Ryno clone was having such a good year. Could be worth a look in 2nd round.
Hield against Oregon. This will be a fun matchup.
Bad turnover, but ridiculous shooting start for Hield. I'm surprised Oklahoma doesn't run Hield off of more picks or use him as a P&R ball handler.
Man if this continues through the championship, gotta start thinking about taking him #1
He's also had some ugly turnovers though.
Heilds game definitely translates to the NBA. He would be a perfect fit on the Pelicans. I think he has a good shot to be around at 5-6 depending on who gets in that too 5. I don't see the Suns or Lakers taking him and possibly not the Wolves either.
Has the prospect of moving up through the lottery and having the oppty. to take Simmons at 1 or 2, and how we would use him been discussed? It would have to be imaginative and would he even get as many minutes first year as the other top 6 prospects because of his lack of scoring?
We had quite a few interesting conversations as we pondered and navigated the nightly canopy.
I don't think that he will approach that at the NBA level, at first. I was basically inquiring as to how he would potentially be used in our team's system. I am well aware of his talents having watched all of his games at LSU. Perhaps you could reply to my intended inquiry, if you have a clue?
He's not a knockdown jump shooter. So that means he can't score at all.
It's funny how his one real weakness gets magnified to such proportions because...that's about it. Everything else is either imagined or mental things people cling to as things that could make him a bust.
And they very well could. I'm liking Hield a lot. He's on fire right now. But can't get it twisted. Hield shouldn't go #1. But he deserves consideration for being #3.
Ben Simmons is the hands down best player. He's going to play as much or more than any player in this draft. For us he would play the 3 and the 4 in small lineups with AD at the 5. You would probably play Pondexter at the two instead of Tyreke so you have another shooter and defender next to him. And it would otherwise be glorious. Simmons is a plug and play with capabilities of going something like 15, 8 and 4.5 as a 19 rookie.
