I won't use the word soft, but I am ready to say injury prone.

No, sadly the word needs to be soft.

If he was injury prone..... there would actually be injuries we can see and quantify.

EVERYONE has bruises and knicks, most just play through the little stuff.

At this point, I feel like he just won't play unless he is 100%.

And that is not good. HOPEFULLY he is still just a child, and his "manly" toughness will come sooner rather than later.

He got injured settling a pick on a guard, he's fragile.

He also only missed 5 games combined in his first 3 seasons.

    You are correct sir.
The most overused words on Pelicansreport.com. Wrongly, I might add.

ELITE - (often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.

GREAT - notable; remarkable; exceptionally outstanding

These words should not be used lightly

Why do we have to defend AD by dragging other players down? Let's talk about AD and his fragility. Shaq has nothing to do with why AD misses games.

He doesn't, but perspective is nice. Like would you call Shaq soft because of that?

He doesn't want to be here. He'd thought it be easy and it wasn't. Its attitude with him. That's why he sucks in defense.

Everybody's body is different. Shaq is 300lbs. The wear and tear is probably 3x's as bad on him than AD. Also, Shaq played when you were actually allowed to foul people. AD is playing during a time where you're not allowed to be touched. AD is getting hurt on picks whereas Shaq was getting his hand broken because another 7 footer tomahawked him so he couldn't score. So I don't see how bringing Shaq into the convo brings perspective.

Yes, I think the entire point here is not all missed games are the same.

Nobody is calling D Rose soft, because he is broken. The same with Shaq. I don't recall Shaq ever sitting out from getting a bump.

Paul George missing time - understandable.

Being bumped (lightly) on a standard pick against a 19 year old PG... not so understandable.

in this case I believe we are seeing some mental fatigue transposing itself in to time in the training room....

Here is how an injury should be judged........ IF YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHEN THE PLAYER GOT HURT.....THEY SHOULD BE IN THE GAME.

We have seen AD take some nasty falls, and we KNEW he was hurt. But just randomly walking to the locker room and then the TV team has to TRY and find where the injury occurred?

Come on AD - be a warrior.

Yea and AD probably moves around the court 3x more than Shaq every did. Its perspective, all the poster is trying to say (i think) is that just because someone misses games due to injury, does that make them "soft"? I think a better word for it may be injury prone. Or at least, for now, it seems that AD may be prone to getting little injuries that keep him from playing some of the games a year.

No, I agree. I don't use the word soft. I said that he's fragile.

Cool - you got access to his medical charts? I would love to see it once you are done. Thanks!

Look, even if you guys are skeptical, he has 25 MILLION reasons to play through everything this season. If he doesn't make an All-NBA team or start the AS game, he loses 25 million freaking dollars.

Injury prone is nice and neutral. Fragile is an insult. Soft is just plain hostile.

Seems it's psychologically more convenient if we can blame a person for badness. Luck can't be controlled and there's no real solution. But if AD is soft, we can blame him. He's soft! Now we start unfounded petty rumors about trade requests. Or insult the way the injury happened even though serious injuries can be non-contact or not causative in the event that only worsened it.

Yup. The turn is already underway.

Gotta be honest. Seeing the play he got injured on was pretty annoying to me. The announcers were just baffled at what to say. Getting pretty tired of this season. Can't handle many more losses or we're done for the year.

So just to clarify, he has to start and not just make the AS game right?

I don't think fragile is an insult. It's an adjective. LOL

That pick Gordon ran through last year looked pretty tame. It tore his labrum.

Looks can be deceiving. I also think this is an older injury. Notice he has been wearing the same corrective under T Gordon wore after his shoulder injury all year.

I think that bump just reaggravated it.

Yeah, that was exactly my point and I thought that much was obvious.

Karl Malone laughs at things that NBA players sit out with nowadays.
I still think the dance team should be the Tail-feathers.
