Sorry picked that up from a Twitter handle when the news broke. Assumed he was being serious.

Still. Tyson Chandler is getting 52m over 4 years and the contract won't end until he a 36.

By the 3rd year the cap will be 110m.

Ryno has come off the bench for 3 years now.

I'll wait til the details but I am honestly a little shocked we paid that much/ that many years.
if Ajinca takes off and we still have Asik then we have two good Centers/trade chips, that's a good problem to have
    never assume

And Bogut is too. . .

Lets give a healthy asik a chance in a new defensive system that is similar to the one he was so dominant in for the bulls. We might be surprised.

    Per marc stein:

Hearing that the final year of Omer Asik's new contract in New Orleans is not guaranteed. Guaranteed cash in the deal roughly $45 million

that's a Scott Kushner tweet... and those #s I'm sure are much more appealing than 5/$60

Too long of a contract. 3 years guaranteed is the longest we should have considered at that price IMO. I just hope he comes back healthy and we see the Asik from his Houston days and not the lumbering, injured Asik from last year.

Are we still on track for Durant 2016?

no way any starter takes less than 4 years unless they aren't sold on where they are going, job security is the main thing

The option doesn't make the deal that much better, but it does give us a chance to get it off the books before Davis is a free agent, so that's huge in itself. I don't like Asik so it's hard for me to get behind this deal, but I do accept it for what it is & it's far better than the "heart of phoenix" ride we just went through.

Eh. I'm super critical of Dell and don't believe in any of the Asik hype.

But I can live with $11m per year. It's basically the same deal Tiago Splitter got from the Spurs, adjusted for the new cap.
