If he averages 30/10/3, there is no way he finishes 3rd in the MVP race.
I'm really hoping to see his assist numbers go up into the 4-5 range.
Those would be all-time numbers together and would likely be 1st in points and blocks. That's MVP easily. Not to mention, if he averages that we will win 55+ games; a successful team would will allow him to win. I don't see how he wouldn't win if those are his averages. I think him jumping to 30 ppg is a lot though.
I rather AD average 22ppg cuz we are blowing out teams to a 60 win season.
The truth in AD might post a year like that and actually finish 3rd is depressing for so many reasons.
I will lay money on that. 0% chance that he isn't MVP if he averages that.
My thoughts exactly
I'll never forget the CP3 snub when Koby won instead although Paul was clearly the MVP IMO.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
I remember that season fondly. We also had a game against the Lakers in April of that season where we were down by like 25pts at one point, and came back to take the lead, but we lost by 4 or 5 pts. That season was a joke, and all the talking heads could say was, "This MVP vote is going to come down to who has the better record." But that was a stupid argument then as Kobe was playing with Gasol, Bynum, Fish, and Odom, while CP3 was playing with West, Chandler, and Peja.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.
If the Pels are the first seed AD will likely win MVP. If he is the second seed I drop the probability down a couple dozen+ percentage points, like 70%. third seed and it drops pretty low. Beyond that its extremely doubtful.
If he isn't in the top 3 seeds I don't see him winning it. When this conversation came up last year I looked back into the history of MVP winners and they are almost all exclusively in the top 2 seeds with only 2 exceptions in the last 30 years. And both of those were third seeds and one of those third seeds was tied for the best overall record.
with the way AD improves every year, and gentry saying he wants AD to shoot more, as crazy as it sounds, i wouldn't be surprised for a split second if AD averages 30-10-3
Same here I think 25 points would be a let down. I feel like another year under Monty with just natural progression he would average near 30 points. With Gentry making it a point to get the ball to Davis and how many more possessions his 12 second or less offense creates I don't think 30 points should surprise anyone at all. If we can be a legit playoff team being in the mix with some of the top teams not being on the fringe as a 7 or 8 seed AD will win MVP.
