I just always assumed they would be in the fight for the eight spot this season with an outside shot at maybe the sixth if absolutely everything went right. It's a shallow team with a lot of limitations.

Tyreke really kills spacing. Much rather him come off the bench when Gordon comes back.

I like asik, but I'm still not sure he's what I want next to AD, so that pick could of just gone for a tryout period for asik

Tyreke 13-6-4 in only 24 minutes with ZERO turnovers. Garbage.

The absolute ideal fit would be someone like Marc Gasol (imo). But the chances of that are less than remote.

Nah, I think Asik is pretty much exactly what we want from a center to pair with AD (that we can get on a reasonable contract). The only thing that would really improve his role in this team would be the ability to catch and finish dumpoffs from the guards at a higher rate.

the best center in the league would be the best fit next to AD? Who woulda thunk it?

Right. I want a big that is a bigger threat on offense and at least average on defense. Asik' inability to finding above the rim hurts. I want a center that can at least go up and throw one down.

You do realise there's more to a game of basketball than ONLY WHAT'S IN THE BOX SCORE?

He's a below the rim 7 footer. He will not get better at finishing those guard dump offs. This is asik, and I'm not sure it helps the team.

I think we need an anchor to the defense more than a a lob threat from our center position.

I know. I'm a master of the obvious. Was more thinking with just his passing, than his position as one of the best in the league though. Alas, not happening anyway.

I was super excited when the Saints sucked (more than they have lately) and the Pelicans were doing better (than this). I thought that maybe the stars were aligned, and that this season would be something special. Now, it looks just that movie Battleship (with less T&A), or last year with all the injuries (only with no injuries to blame).
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

I do, tyreke was doing a phenomenal job finding the open man for 3 and getting offensive rebounds to keep drives alive. U DO REALIZE THIS RIGHT?!?!?!? ARGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH

You can be a defensive player that can atleast be a threat on pick and roll. Just look at Deandre Jordan.

Gordon has proven to be a pretty big injury issue.

Commentators are trying so hard to be optimistic.
