I think the 12:01 AM timeline for the deal pretty much died when Houston lost out on Melo & Bosh, doesn't make sense for them to drop below the cap & lose their exceptions anymore. Don't expect a deal until after Houston matches Chandler Parsons contract (if that is their plan)

Unless they make Ariza a S&T (likely involving us), they would lose the MLE/BAE by signing Ariza into cap space.

Edit: Apparently an Ariza for Lin TPE S&T may work as well.

Yeah, little maneuvers may be done here and there to modify things slightly with the Rockets facing completely different scenarios than they were anticipating even just a few short days ago.

But it will still be the same idea - Get Asik and have the Room Exception left. Don't fret. We got a SL game today. The WC final is on as well. Enjoy the day and it will get done in some form or fashion. Then, the hunt for a SF and some min. bargains begins. Then, there will be absolutely nothing to talk about in August and September. So, enjoy this time, rather than trying to rush through it.
