I always liked how disruptive Aminu was at breaking up passing lanes with his freak-length.. but then he would go down on the other end and dribble off his forehead, commit a charge, and then knock a ice cream cone out of a four year old's hand sitting courtside.

You enter June 24th looking at about 6 mil in cap room, Pierre Jackson, a 2015 protected pick, and a Room Exception and walk out with Omer Asik, Russ Smith, Patric Young, and let's say Richard Jefferson or CDR in THIS market? 6 million can't even get you Jodie Meeks. It only gets you 66% of Jordan Hill.

I want people to think about a summer where we signed CJ Miles and Nazr Mohammad instead. Or Anthony Morrow and Ekpe Udoh. Just think about that. Now, how do you feel about our actual summer?
Yes but did we only lose Ely, Babbitt, Amunu, Smith, and Roberts to obtain those players?
That's not yet confirmed so its hard to say its an A grade.

C'mon - its not Gerald Green. I said the SF issue hasn't been solved yet and that this was a small transaction. I can't let you guys get all excited. Sorry, had to stop it.
    I have an interesting idea:

Pistons are interested in Brian Roberts/Silva's contract is a non-guaranteed 810,000ish

Sign and Trade Roberts for Silva etc. and add him to the non-gauranteed contracts of Babbitt, Ely and Gee to make 8.8 mil to complete the deal and absorb Asik's contract. Boom!

The move MM mentioned would have us keeping Babbitt so there's another shoe to drop today that will help make that work.

Is Gees contract only 3M though?
    I read somewhere it was 3.2M (hoopshype.com).
So essentially Ely, Gee and Babbitt should be enough to obsorb Asik.

We're short according to this article...http://www.thebirdwrites.com/2014/7/...-ramifications

What you guys have to understand about S&T's and why it rarely gets done on lower tier guys is that it has to be for more than 1 year.

Trust me, Dell has explored it, but its not as easy as just saying ' "Do it."

I'd be happy if Anthony Morrow wants to come back and start at SF.

Maybe he really wants to be here and has been waiting on us.

Hell, literally anyone that can shoot a three would be adequate at this point.

To be fair, those both sound like really good SF situations to me right now. Love our frontcourt, really like our backcourt, but let's say Tyreke plays half his minutes at the "3" (~15 minutes)---that's still 33 minutes that are going to be played by bargain bin NBA players, and that's if everyone's healthy. We have like 2.7 m and some minimum contracts to make that happen, so Dell's going to have to get creative. I agree that the goal should be shooting, low usage, low turnover, and not a tire fire defensively. Options would include CDR (my personal favorite, although not entirely convinced he can really shoot), Jordan Hamilton, Richard Jefferson. Preferred minimum guys to rotate in would include Darius Miller, Chris Johnson (if waived). I would also look at the European leagues; there's got to be someone who can shoot reasonably well and be in the right place defensively.

I think 33 is a little high personally.

And remember that at all times, whoever that guy is will be our 5th option. There is a difference between asking 25-30 mins from a guy when you want production from him and 25-30 mins when you just need him to do the little things and provide a threat.

And, again, I think people are jumping the gun here. I think that, with the room exception and the ability to offer a starting role, we get something better than Aminu and as good as Barnes, Marion, etc.

Really?? That would be great actually!

Side note: MM, I'm hosting a guy from Vegas in my house for the World Cup, Nick, and he said he knows you! Crazy world!

Should be a great game tomorrow. I got Germany 1-0

  15. #1515
There are two sides of every deal. The Rockets can send less cash to make the deal workable if the issue is $1.5m or less. If the Pels really want the deal eliminate the cash.

  16. #1516
    I got 8-0 Germany hahha

  17. #1517
Its Jared Dudley! I know it.

  18. #1518
Or it could either be Brandon Rush (who the Pelicans have been targeting for a while) r Richard Jefferson (fits the role a bit too). But I'm pretty sure Dudley.

Who would have thought the absence of Neymar and Thiago Silva(who I miss on AC Milan) would have that type of impact.
