Since we are already far off topic, I didn't see anything wrong with your article. Actually, I had flashbacks to college term papers reading the bibliography at the end. Lol

I took the article as very much a "current state of things" piece. Maybe next article can be breaking down the Patric Young / Wallace comparison? Lol

Wont matter. I have busted my butt for 4 years, probably spent 2-3 thousand hours researching and writing. Maybe 5% of the feedback I get across all platforms is positive. Just the way it is and how it always will be.

haha i mean it isn't horrible, not good, but not horrible. I look at it similar to the Bledsoe is a mini-lebron comparison or rookie tyreke was like a mini-lebron. It doesn't actually mean anything, definitely not that they are like lebron, but that they do some similar things so I just take it as it is. Like anyone really athletic is lebron, any guard really athletic is Rose or Westbrook, not really, but you get what they mean.
    never assume

Let's be honest. You're still trying to explain the can't use cap and MLE point. People only remember what they want. And most of what is remembered is when you mess up. Cuz you know, life.

Here's an interesting question that's on topic. Why do you think Young has such a short standing reach? He's 6'10" and has 7'1" arms. Is he actually too muscular and it limits his range of motion?

That's how I take it too. It's like when my wife says she looks like Kristen Dunst and I'm like . . .

Then She stares at I'm and I'm like, "oh I see what you mean"..

In all fairness, she kinda does.

I'm not saying Young will set the world on fire with his rebounding, but I think it can improve in the NBA. Have to remember the team he played for. Who knew who Chandler Parsons was before he starting playing in Houston? I sure didn't know the guy who averaged 11 and 12 ppg for Florida.

But more specifically the rebounding. Isn't Florida usually a good team rebounding unit? Case in point Joakim Noah, while he was at Florida his last 2 seasons he averaged I think 7 and 8 rebounds per game. Now in the NBA he is a walking double-double. I'm not saying Young will turn out to be as good as Noah (I believe Noah did average 1 and 2 rpg more in their respected last 2 seasons), please don't think that, I just think it's possible we see some improvement in his rebounding at the next level.

A really long neck which gives him his height perhaps, which would give him short shoulders??

But going from Mythrol's quote, I'm guessing his wingspan is 7'1". Thats decent arm length.

Yep. He actually has really long arms. Which would make you think his standing reach should be better. Especially when combined with height.

His arms actually aren't long - his shoulders are extremely broad. So when he reaches them out, he is fine. When he reaches them up, they don't go that high. Again, the only productive big with similar standing reach is Landry.

Ahhhhhhhh. Now that makes sense. I was basing it off his the 7'1" measurement but if he has very broad shoulders then that explains it.

And for an undrafted player, I'd sure as heck take Carl Landry production.

Yep, me too. I LOVE Young. Just doesn't seem that way here because I don't think he will have the production of a DPOY. The intangibles, yes. But not the production.

Love Young, though. A fantastic get.

I see young as a rich man's Ryan bowen, so essentially better at everything that's basketball, but not so great at parties.... i mean how can you compete with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Wx9vBIk2sk

Can he rock a flannel like Bowen?

On another note, I guess with the limited Def rebounding potential of Young, where would he fit in the rotation? I was thinking he might be alright if the team wants to play small ball, but if he can't rebound that well then that wouldn't work so well.

And then figuring other bigs he could play with, and I think only AD could compliment him really well. I guess i like him most on the practise court, toughening AD up.

How do you go to a big time party like that and wear a shirt that most people would paint in?

    That guy was a boss.

I think this got blown WAAAAY out of proportion.
All that was said was "They see me as a little Ben Wallace". I don't infer "OMG WE'RE GETTING THE PRODUCTION OF BEN WALLACE" from that statement.
I took it as he and the team see Ben Wallace as a good player to MOLD HIS GAME AFTER... That's it. I did not come to any conclusion other than that. My expectations are the same as always which are "Lol SUMMER LEAGUE!".
I enjoy watching glorified rec-league games with guys who are trying their damnedest to make an NBA roster.
    But anyway...
    Did someone say BEN WALLACE?!?!?

I don't always agree with you, and I don't respect you because you live in Utah, but I will be damned if somebody says you aren't a great writer. Go down to Beto's and get a carne asada burrito, tell um I sent you.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

I guess it is just me then who is confused, and I admit that this is entirely possible.

When I say, "X player can be like Y player." I am purely talking about how he can produce for his team. I don't make that statement thinking about intangible things, just purely tangible things.

People think differently on that front. I have learned that in this thread.

When i saw him the first time he reminded me instantly of big ben. Just that threatening presence inside the area, fierce competitor, all out hustler and intelligent defender. That's what made me think of big ben. Nowhere in that do any "tangible things" come. He simply can't be big ben as far as production goes. But name a list of players who were like big ben as far as intangibles go? Yeah, not a long list at all.
