Asik seems to have great court vision and anticipation, which I believe leads to the "little wasted motion" you speak of. If things work as they should, I think this move could help AD on several levels. If the Pelicans are able to move Rivers and/or Gordon for a quality small forward, then IMHO the pieces should be in place to make a serious run, barring significant injuries.

If Dell manages to keep Anderson, the pelicans should have one of the most interesting teams inside. You can create a very interesting rotation with AD playing 36 minutes (18 minutes PF, 18 minutes C), Ryno 30 (all PF) and Asik 30 (all center). There would be basically three combination inside for the pels.
First the "None shall pass" for an average of 18 minutes per game with AD and Asik disrupting the PnR and protecting the rim.
Then the "Open season" for an average of 18 minutes per game with Ryno and AD destroying the opponent on the offensive end. Best suited against offensively-challenged teams and smaller bigs.
And there would be also the "AD may take some rest but not the opponent" with Ryno doing his thing and Asik patrolling the paint.
That would be a pretty good and versatile frontcourt rotation.
Deals done, but it isn't legal thanks to salary cap brikabrak?
Meh. Things will work out, I'm sure. Just wondering specifically how.
And when.
To my understanding I think deals can be retroactively "filed" in any other that allows them to be legal by a certain date or once the team is content with the deals it has confirmed. I probably have this wrong concerning particulars but I think I convey the point I'm attempting to put across.
Jrue dat
If anyone is wondering where 55% comes from, if you make your free-throws at that rate, you are scoring at 1.1 points-per-possession (or 110 ORtg). If a team averaged that amount all season, they would be one of the top offenses in the league. The Clippers led the league last season at 112.1 ORtg.
Really? A whole 4 players? That's nice. Now look at how players improve after they leave here. I'll throw out the ones I remember just off the top of my head. Okafor, Ariza, Marco Belineli, Carl Landry, Chandler was the big one, that's when we showed we weren't doing something right.
Teams can only do the Hack A (insert player) when the team is already in the bonus. This is why Ryno is so valuable and why I maintain that he will finish games. If Asik is on the floor at the beginning of the 1st, 3rd, and 4th, middle of the 2nd, as I expect - then this is a non issue.

Makes sense, perhaps it's the lateral quickness that I'm discounting, or his quickness in general. So maybe he isn't as fast in a foot race, but his reaction time is great, no doubt he's got great hands and timing for blocking shots.
Also, he's from Turkey, which is part Europe and part Asia. Eurasian then?![]()
I have watched every single P&R possession on defense from last two years. Also, every possession when he switched onto a guard. I was blown away. If AD keeps getting the mental part of that side down, those two can be the top two big men in the league once Noah starts to slow down at defending the pick and roll
