You have really done a great job making a strong case with all these assertions you keep lobbing.

And I already conceded that we could potentially finish above Portland in the standings but I'm not banking in it for the reasons I outlined earlier. They are more seasoned, they have their chemistry locked down which means they will hit the ground running in all likelihood. Aldridge is the best PF in the game right now and Lillard is making his case as a top PG in this league. And they have cohesive role players that fit what they do.

    Haha fair enough.

Eh, Spurs, Clips, OKC, and (to a lesser extent) Rockets are the top tier teams in the West. Everyone else is much closer together. Warriors and Blazers are not head-and-shoulders above anyone else in the playoff race.

The Blatche signing would imply an Anderson trade, I would imagine.

true, didn't think about that, based on the reports we've seen I think that would be ok, they have basically said they won't trade him unless the return is really really good, or that is my interpretation anyway

Trading Ryno and signing Blatche with the MLE should get Demps fired. That would be absolutely horrendous. Our front court is one of the best as is. Even if we do trade Ryno, focus should be on SF.

What would be horrendous about it? What do you think Ryno would get traded for???

If we trade ryno it would obviously be for a sf, not like trading him for nothing or cap space.

    At least i hope so

A SF, I guess. The main reason I'd be upset is because I'm ecstatic about the possibility of a Ryno-AD-Asik front court. What SF though?

I'm 100% with you on wanting to keep Anderson. With that being said, I have no clue what SF but I'm going to trust the powers that be to get a good one. And adding Blatche would help lesson the blow of losing Anderson.

The thing is if we can't trade Gordon then there's no other way to maintain the MLE besides trading Ryno if I'm not mistaken. I certainly don't want to do it but I understand it. I'd rather just wait a year personally.

There are only a couple guys I'd trade Ryno for. Those being:
    Wilson Chandler
    Chandler Parsons
    Iggy
    Jeff Green (maybe)
    Jimmy Butler

And I know a lot of those aren't even a possibility.

It's entirely possible to have Asik, Ryno, and Gordon on the roster and keep the MLE, the BAE, and Bird rights to our FAs. In fact, it's probably the simplest of all the scenarios. We would have to trade Rivers.

    I do understand 125% rule
I don't think you do...125% rule only applies if there isn't cap space. You don't have to meet both.

Why does this mean Ryno will be traded? I thought Ryno was OFF LIMITS.

Not sure why Ryno is THAT untouchable. He's a supreme luxury that can help put a contending team over the hump. And he's a very fun player, to be true. But notice I said a contending team. His presence along won't do it. He just doesn't make a big enough defensive impact, the way Kevin Love can. Rebounding is the final part of defense, after all, and we know Ryno isn't a great onball guy. He's smart enough to contribute in rotations. But that's barely enough.

I don't wanna see Ryno traded for scraps or just for the sake of making a move. But the notion often gets dismissed offhand.
