To be clear, all I have heard is that they're not trying to trade Anderson. We know Davis isn't going anywhere, Jrue almost definitely isn't, & Tyreke is worth more to the Pelicans than he is on the trade market w/ that contract. Therefore, we're left with Gordon or Rivers. If the Pelicans got some crazy offer that they could not say no to, then yeah, maybe Ryno gets dealt, but they are definitely not looking to move him. Expect it to be Rivers, while holding out hope that a team is foolish enough to take Gordon.

They could have, and should have let Gordon walk in 2012. But given the context and circumstance, that was a very difficult thing to do. Not sure if any GM would've done it.

Fast forward, if Gordon embraced the role of 6th Man and had a better attitude, he'd absolutely be valuable to this team. But he still wouldn't be providing $15 million worth of value. If you can trade Gordon for an empty bag, you can take the $15m you were spending on Gordon, and use it on players that provide greater value than Gordon currently does.

Would I rather Gordon or would I rather Trevor Ariza and Channing Frye? I'll take the latter all day ever day, so long as Gordon is the pouting, under-performing, and overpaid player that he is. The 2013 version of Ariza and Frye provide more value than every version of Eric Gordon the NBA has seen, except for maybe the 2010 version. That was 4 years ago. D. Wade was an All NBA Superstar 4 years ago. Kobe was Kobe 4 years ago. Anthony Davis was 6'3" 4 years ago.

I don't understand why Monty gets so much hate on here and has respect around the league. I mean he has had to deal with alot of turnover every here he has been here. Not just rotational pieces but Key pieces also. Thats every yr having to reteach his system. I think alot of his hate is mostly regurgitation, rather than true substance.

MM i have a question for you... when you were doing your series for "the glory days" did you happen to look at how evans performed coming off the bench with Ryan anderson (when we were mostly healty) I think it was about late Nov into mid to late December maybe. I remember espn doing a piece on after one of our games saying "maybe evans was turning it around" and showed a graphic during that time span he was averaging close to 20 ppg off the bench. I believe it mainly had to do with him playing with anderson. I wonder if that would be of interest to you (game film wise)

Oh its fine - I am not free from criticism. I just dont get it here. And Mason and I are fine. He just had to clear up some assumptions. And that, I guess, is partly my fault. I should have worded it differently or checked back to make sure people werent reading too much into it.

Either way, the point is that it will likely be Gordon or Rivers. Maybe both. We will know soon enough

I don't think it's that simple. Gordon still has a history of injuries and he didn't look like a huge upgrade when he did play. Mayo is due almost half of what Gordon is due. And if Gordon doesn't opt out then you have at best 25% of a better player for almost 100% more the salary.

Of course if the Bucks are dumb enough to go for it we shouldn't blink before finalizing that deal.
