I wish I could mute the announcers but have all the other game sounds. They are as awful as this game is good.

I believe so. The Spurs are making the Heat look like the JV. The disparity in basketball IQ and execution is jarring.

Great game so far. I love how no single player on the Spurs is having an amazing game, the entire team is having an amazing game.

MVP of the series is Boris Diaw. Heat have absolutely no answer for him. Go big, he goes around them, makes a great pass. Go small and don't double, he bulls his way to the bucket for a hoop and/or foul. Go small and double, he makes a great pass.
Take nothing away from Duncan, Ginobli, Parker, or Leonard. But Diaw is the key cog right now.
You read my mind! I was actually coming in here to post that I think Diaw has been one of if not the best player for the Spurs this series.
I'm gonna agree with this. Watching the Spurs is always fun. But watching Diaw and Leonard has just been a complete joy.
I can agree with Diaw being the X factor, but if the Spurs win the next one, and Leonard has another game like he has had the prior two games, he will deservedly take home the MVP, and set himself up for next season when more will be thrust on him.
And when is somebody going to pass on to Kawhi that he needs to pull a Udonis Hasslem and get rid of those early 2000's played out corn rows? Shave um son!

I agree with you. Leonard will probably be MVP if he has another performance like games 3 and 4, and rightfully so.

I find the Heat's body language very very disturbing for defending champs. I also find that Lebron is very accepting of this series being a loss. I get the impression that they take finals appearances for granted a bit at this point. I wanted a good series to start and it still may be, but i'm very perplexed by what's happening.

Couldn't agree more. They seem almost content. But I guess four straight Finals appearances and two titles can do that to you.
mentally weak, just mentally weak, watch lebron go else where to get a better team around him because he doesn't deal with adversity. people talk about how he is carrying the team, but hey, 27 7 and 3, not much different than his season averages of 27 6 and 6.

Don't see how this just falls on LeBron. At least he showed up unlike Bosh and Wade. If Reily is smart he's thinking of ways to move Wade (and perhaps Bosh) and keeping LeBron. Wade just doesn't seem to have it. If he can't conjure it on this stage you have to image it's mostly gone for good. Not sure the Heat aren't better off with two skilled roll players than Wade at this point in his career.

Bosh has shot over 60% in the series. If anything the Heat needed to get him more touches. Bosh has gotten 30 or so shots while Wade has taken over 50 and looked like crap on both sides of the ball in the process.
I know everyone is talking about the big three taking payouts and bringin Melo in but if I'm Wade I would say **** that and sign my player option. No way that guy sniffs half of what he would make next season playing the way he has and missing 28 games.
As for this series, Spo needs to gameplan around James, Bosh and Allen for the next game. Wade needs to be treated like a 4th option and bosh needs a lot more ran for him. Right now he is far and away their second best player and seems to be the most mentally competent of the big three based on their post game interviews. Wade and James seem checked out.

Yeah, Bosh and Lebron have looked decent. There shouldn't be much blame on Lebron. He had half his team's points at half time. The rest of his team shot 27% besides him tonight. I agree with the body language too. I don't know if it's just contentment but they just looked defeated even when down 12 in the second.

Wade and James are being forced to play (so far) without the benefit of superstar officiating which the have usually received. Good to great defense by San Antonio is being allowed to happen, so the free throws are not coming and the easy shots are not coming. They are getting annoyed at having to play against defense on every possession, because there is no point guard to get them shots in space.
On the offensive end, San Antonio is passing and catching the ball so fast that the usual trapping defense by Miami can't keep up. The lack of a bench is tiring out the core players for Miami, and they can't catch anybody.
San Antonio probably wishes that the MVP award could be skipped this year. Duncan, Leonard, Diaw, Parker, Mills, Ginobli, and Green have all made big contributions in various games. I have to lean toward Leonard due to his defense on LeBron and his explosion in the key Game 3.
I was glad to here SVG admit that several Western Conference teams would have been favored over Miami if they were to meet. I hope that the evenhanded officiating continues in Game 5 and SA gives Miami another beat-down. Then I hope we embrace Spurs-style basketball here in New Orleans.
I guess we'll have to see how the next game plays out. Personally I think the argument for Duncan is stronger because he didn't disappear for two games. Right now I'd say Duncan has a slight edge, then Leonard and even though he'd never get it (because he didn't put up a ton of points) Diaw.

Yeah I believe Diaw has a strong argument but he won't get it because this is as much a popularity contest as any, and so far Tim and Leonard have been the most talked about players.
A few totally random Finals thoughts:
1. It’s imperative to have great defense at the point of attack. Parker is blowing by his defender on a regular basis, which forces rotations and almost inevitably leaves a wide open 3 for the taking. Against an elite passing team like the Spurs, that’s a death wish.
The past 3 seasons, we’ve had Jack, Vasquez, and Roberts defending the point of attack. I’m so happy we have Jrue. He is one of the best in the league at defending the ball handler. Also (this goes without saying, but I’m going to say it anyway), AD’s length and athleticism allows him to be virtually at 2 places at once. With experience, he’ll be able to help and recover better than any big in the league. I know our defense sucks right now, but we have the personnel to be an elite defensive team. Imagine adding a guy like Tucker on the wing and moving Gordon to upgrade our third big. This group is close.
2. Other than James and Bosh, would anyone else on the Heat be on the floor in crunch time for the Pelicans? Phrased differently, at this point in their careers, is Wade better than Tyreke or a healthy Gordon?
3. This playoffs is showing why Ryno is so valuable. Boris Diaw and Rashard Lewis are both playing crucial roles in the playoffs because they can stretch the floor. Splitter has been relegated to the back burner, in the same way that Perkins was for OKC, and in the same way that Hibbert should have been for the Pacers. Like it or not, the stretch 4 is a necessity in today’s game. I agree that we need a third big so that we can play “big” when the matchup calls for it, but not at the expense of Ryno. I think he is critical to the future of our team, and it’s frustrating to see him thrown in every other trade proposal like he is nothing more than an asset to get Greg Monroe.
