Other than Mahinmi all the contracts run out next offseason so you could really cut them for all the team cares... just get that cap number way down entering the 2015 summer free agency. And Mahinmi is very fairly paid IMO & could help a lot here

Do you really think Indy is gonna get rid of Stephenson to sign EG ?? : D

I highly doubt the Pelicans will trade for $12-$14 million in contracts just to cut them.

I think that with every game that passes they realize that chemistry & the locker room attitude is a bigger deal to their lack of success. yahoo put out an article today speaking on it... http://sports.yahoo.com/news/neither...184046985.html

If you told me I could have crazy Lance at $13m a year for four years, or Eric Gordon at 1y $15m, then 3 more years at $8-10m per, I think I'd consider it. The question is only whether or not you think Gordon will opt out after this coming season and what resigning him would cost.

I don't think they would cut them either, just saying I doubt they'd be part of the long term plans past their contracts expiring. whole goal is to shed a year off gordon's contract so we can have some cap in 2015 before having to extend Davis. this would allow that to happen

    three way deal:

Indiana gives up Lance and Chris Copeland and spare change: receives Eric Gordon, #24 pick, Pierre Jackson

Charlotte gives up Gerald Henderson, #24 pick: recieves sign/traded Lance Stephenson, Jeff Withey

New Orleans gives up Eric Gordon, Jeff Withey, and Pierre Jackson: receives Chris Copeland, Gerald Henderson

    Flame it or nah?

I like it for the Pelicans. Don't believe you can sign and trade before the draft, so it would have to be for whoever is picked at 24. Not sure what the spare change is for Indiana and where it goes.

I think it could work for everyone only depending on how Indiana truly feels about Stephenson and Gordon. I think Hornets would like that because Stephenson is an upgrade over Henderson

I really don't wanna trade Withey. I think he will be our starting center by his 3rd year. But I do want the cap space.

This sounds great in theory, but Larry Bird is no chump. Doubt Indiana goes for Gordon, though I know that EG would probably like to play there. Having a starting 2 that doesn't play a whole lot of defense might not fit their model. It seems unlikely to me.

I want to see some consistent controlled aggression out if him and then we will know more.....

EG to Indiana(Again), perfect place for a trade?

If Withey is our starting C in year 3, either Dell landed a stud SF or really messed something up

a month ago i never would have thought Lance wouldn't be re-signed next year. Tonight i have completed a full 180 and think there is NO way he is back in Indiana next year

This offseason could be the one where we can pedal Pudin to Indy for Thomas, Hibbert, Vogul, and a pair of front row tickets to the NBA Finals.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

This is the one that makes the most sense to me. Keep in mind, Brian Shaw has a great relationship with Lance

Denver gets: Lance in S&T, Copeland, and Ajinca
    Pels get: Javale McGee
    Indy gets: Gordon

Denver gets the defensive minded guy they need in the backcourt with Ty, Indy gets to move on from Lance and potentially add some offensive punch, and we move a guy we dont need for a position we do. Plus, we get to about 10 mil in cap room with that move to go after a new level of FA.

Gordon trades by team: I'm not saying I like them just some trades that are interesting.

    Atlanta:
Gordon for Korver and Lou Williams

    Boston:
Gordon for Brandon Bass and Joel Anthony
Gordon, future pick for Gerald Wallace, pick 6
Gordon, Tyreke for Rondo, Gerald Wallace, filler

    Brooklyn:
Gordon, filler for Thornton (definitely go to a third team, memphis for Prince) , Garnett (cut)
    Grodon, filler for Joe Johnson
    Gordon for Thornton, Teletovic

    Charlotte:
    Gordon for Biyombo, Gary Neal
Gordon, Ryan Anderson for Biyombo, Neal, Henderson, pick 9

    Chicago:
    Gordon for Boozer

    Cleveland:
Gordon for Dion Waiters (probably a third team) and Jarrett Jack
Gordon for Anthony Bennet, Dion Waiters (because cleveland is dumb)

    Dallas:
    Gordon for Jose Calderon

    Denver:
Gordon for Gallinari + one of Willson Chandler, Mozgov, Randy Foye, JJ Hickson
Gordon for Javale McGee + one of Willson Chandler, Mozgov, Randy Foye, JJ Hickson

    Detroit:
    Gordon for Josh Smith
Gordon, Anderson for Greg Monroe, Jerebko, Will Bynum

    Golden State:
Gordon for Lee, Bogut, or Iggy

    Houston:
    Gordon for Lin and Asik

    Indiana
    Gordon for George Hill, Mahinmi
    Gordon for Socla, Mahinmi, Copeland

    LAC: nothing
    LAL: Gordon for Steve Nash

    Memphis:
    Gordon for Prince, Courtney Lee

    Miami: nothing
Milwaukee: Gordon for any combo of players except Knight, Giannis, Henson

    Minnesota:
Gordon for Barea, Mbah a Moute, Budinger (if the wolves make a play for love to stay)

New York: I don't see a trade happening unless gordon agrees to opt out
    OKC: too cheap
    Orlando: nothing
Philly: Eric Gordon for Jason Richardson
    Phoenix: nothing
    Portland: nothing

    Sacramento:
    Gordon, fillers for Rudy Gay
Gordon for Landry or Jason Thompson + Derrick Williams or Jason Terry and travis Outlaw

    SanAntonio: too smart
    Toronto:
Eric Gordon for Chuck Hayes and Landry Fields

    Utah:
Eric Gordon, future pick for nothing

Washington: I could see a three team trade.

McGee's contract is through the next two seasons correct? I'd do this, you have him for enough time to see what we'll get from him and not too long to where we are burdened with his contract. If he never improves or becomes a viable option he becomes a nice expiring. What is your opinion of McGee?
    never assume

EG to Indiana(Again), perfect place for a trade?

If you give McGee a 20-25 mpg role, he has shown in the past he can be outstanding. Also, better post player than most would probably guess

He would be better for this roster than Gordon undoubtedly but the unknowable question is: Is he better than the other offers Dell can get for Gordon or FAs he can get if Gordon opts out or is stretched?

That, as always, is the hard part since none of us are privy to that info

Mcgee and Davis would make for one hell of a block party.

Blocks are the fun part, the quantifiable part. I agree, they would get plenty. But I am more excited about the length and their ability to cover so much ground on the P&R

I tend to like our hard hedging style, but it is not incredibly effective when your other big is Ryno or Smith or Ajinca, etc. None of them are great hedgers and when AD hedges and they are left to project the rim, it is kind of a joke. McGee can do both. A guy like that allows us to the play the kind of defense Monty wants. Then, when Ryno is in, you play a little more conservative D with the big just showing not hedging so hard.

    First Swaggy P... Now McGee?!

McNamara is putting together the Hornets team I wanted in the summer of 2012!

If 2 years after I was begging for Dell to go after McGee instead of matching Gordon, and signing Swaggy to be our SG, we have a starting lineup of Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, Swaggy P, Anthony Davis, and Javele McGee... I will be the happiest Pelicans fan in the building.

The McGee/Davis pairing would be the most dynamic defensive front court in the league.

In my 2012 dreams, it was Rivers driving and kicking to Swaggy. But having Tyreke and Jrue on the perimeter with Tyreke able to kick to Jrue or Swaggy would be awesome. Sign me up yesterday!

And on defense Davis and McGee can help cover and erase any defensive limitations Swaggy and Tyreke have.

Imo anyone that's watched Gordon would conclude that he is worthless.. Undersized SG who cant really defend and always disappears late in games. He is good for some points & 3's but if you give a guy like Anthony Morrow his minutes he'd probably put up similar numbers...for 1/4 the price

Hopefully we find some sucker but I would think Hibbert could net them something better

Can you combine other players in a S&T?
